Foodie for a Day // Evening Snacks

As I’ve mentioned before, part of the FitMixer Bootcamp is following a personalized nutrition plan.  The best thing about this plan is that they don’t tell you what to eat but rather what you should aim for calorie, protein, fat and carb wise for each meal, snack and overall for the day.  This is perfect as it leaves you room for your favorite foods and without any major restrictions!

The basic idea of the plan is that you eat 6 times per day: 3 meals and 3 snacks.  This isn’t far from my usual realm, as I used to eat 5 times per day: 3 meals and 2 snacks.  Adding in an extra snack wasn’t really that complicated and I’ve found myself looking at what my snacks entail and paying more attention to my hunger levels at each meal and snack.

 

But adding that third snack for the day has also brought it’s challenges.  I don’t want all of my snacks to look the same as either a bar or protein shake, so I’ve been playing around with some delicious and fun snacks to have in the evening and thought I’d share.  Whether you’re really watching what you eat or not, these are all delicious and great snack options.  (And honestly, they can be for any time of day but I’ve been enjoying them in the evening as my mid-morning and afternoon snacks generally look about the same.)
