When we wake up in the morning, we’re looking forward to what the day may bring. While it’s not always what we expect, there are a few things we can do to make every day feel amazing this summer, or really any time of year! The summer is such a beautiful time to focus back in on this when everyone is excited to get outside, enjoy the sunshine and embrace each day. Here are a few of my suggestions to make each day amazing this summer:

Do Yoga (or just move your body someway) Outside
Grab your mat or a towel and take your practice to the beach, a park or even your own backyard. It’s always fun to change up the scenery, like when I did yoga in the apple orchard.

Visit Farmers Market or Pick Your Own Farm
Growing up I always loved going strawberry picking with my family. My mom and her siblings would tell stories about when my grandpa took them as kids and I loved that we made it our own tradition too. I always look forward to that time of year and know that I can get some fresh berries and produce.

Stay Hydrated
During the summer, it’s even more important to be sure we’re staying hydrated with the heat, humidity and all of the time in the sun. Need some tips for drinking enough water?

Fuel Your Body With Lots Of Superfoods
Morning smoothies are one of my favorite breakfasts year-round but they taste even better in the summer! I come back to my apartment after a tough workout and nothing tastes more refreshing than a superfood packed protein smoothie. I always pack them with protein, greens, collagen, frozen fruit, and nut butter.

Go Green
When going on picnics or taking lunches to work, use glass containers that you can wash and reuse again. Mason jars are perfect for this! There are so many great sizes. Don’t forget to pack reusable silverware and stainless steel or glass straws. I always feel better knowing I’m taking care of this precious planet.

Soak in the Sunshine
Being sun safe, of course, but sunshine is so good for us. It’s amazing how everyone’s moods and being changes when the sun finally peaks out after a few days of gray, cloudy skies. When the sun shines, make sure to get outside and soak in some of that Vitamin D.

Spend it with Friends & Family
There’s no better thing than to surround yourself with people you love and who love you. The older I get, the more community becomes a huge point of focus in my life and guides many of my decisions and directions. There’s no doubt spending time with those you love will leave you feeling amazing.

    I already have my yoga mat pulled out and ready to do my workouts on the pool deck this summer. I love doing a nice long flow, then jumping in the pool to cool off. Also, I can’t wait to go pick some yummy berries. They look amazing this season!

    Yes, yes, YES to Farmer’s Markets and Pick Your Own Berries! Fresh fruits and veggies are the best in the summer! And I love the idea of practicing yoga outside!
