As you may or may not know, I can’t include dairy in my diet. I’ve been this way for the majority of my lifetime so it doesn’t really bother me but from time to time there are certain treats I’d love to enjoy like pizza with cheese or cheesecake for dessert.
I learned many years ago that it just wasn’t worth it for me to try and enjoy those foods so I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I got an email from Daiya regarding their new line of dairy-free Cheezecakes!
While I couldn’t make their launch event in Chicago, they were sweet enough to send me a few coupons so I could still try out the cheesecakes for myself!
We were in Portland, OR at the time and I found the cheesecakes at a local Whole Foods to where I was staying. There are four different flavors (Original, Chocolate, Key Lime and Strawberry). I picked up an Original and Chocolate to start. With limited RV freezer space, there’s just not room for a bunch of cheesecakes in the freezer. 😉
It had been a long day so after surviving the super busy grocery store, I immediately dove into trying one of the cheesecakes. Directions say to let it thaw in the fridge but I didn’t have time for that, I was ready to try it now.
It was delicious and tasted just like the cheesecake I thought I had to give up many years ago! I loved pairing them with the fresh berries we picked up from the farmer’s market.
The second cheesecake made a great little treat while on the drive to Alaska! 😉
I was never patient enough to let the cheesecakes thaw in the fridge as suggested but quite honestly, it was so good right out of the freezer that I couldn’t imagine giving it time to thaw first and have it taste any better.
Thank you so much to Daiya for the opportunity to try out their new cheesecakes! While I was provided free product in exchange for this post, all thoughts and opinions are strictly my own.
