Simple Moments

There are moments in our lives that are so small but so precious.

These are the moments that don’t happen nearly as often as you’d like and when they do, they usually go by in the blink of an eye.

And while you could spend your moments wishing for more time, the better approach is to appreciate each moment you get.

So that’s what I did when I got to meet up with Brittany and her husband for brunch after my race yesterday morning.

9961_873318495779_123274635_n We met at Prasino for brunch and let me tell you…SO.FREAKING.GOOD.  Not just the company but also the food.

We all seemed to enjoy our breakfasts and left with very full bellies.  Our moments together were short but I made sure to enjoy every second catching up with them. I can’t wait to see Brittany at BLEND in May (and John David, thank you for allowing us to steal your wife on your anniversary)!  🙂

Anyway, like I said, I ran a race yesterday morning but I’m going to wait to share that experience with you until tomorrow because I’m going to be honest, it was an experience!

But, speaking of races, we all know I’m running my 1/2 marathon in TWO weeks now (!!!) (ohemgeeohemgeeohemgee) and while this is a race where they suggest running with no headphones, I’m still creating a race playlist just in case and because I’d rather be safe than sorry….

That means I’m looking to YOU guys to help me create a marvelous kick-butt playlist.  Ready, set…GO!

What marvelous things did you do this weekend?

What songs do you recommend for a kick-butt run?

Ahhhhhhh! My girlssssss!! And I LOVE that pic of the two of you! Gorgeous…as always! And I just want you to know that your intro was absolutely perfect! We DO need to appreciate all those moments we get…big or small…because they ALL count!

As for tuneage, you’re in luck, because I JUST recently went through mine and “refined it” a bit! Some of my favorite get-you-pumped songs: Cherri Bomb “Let It Go”, Letters to Cleo “I Want You to Want Me”, Electric Guest “This Head I Hold”, Breathe Carolina “Blackout”, The Black Keys “Gold on the Ceiling”, Band of Skulls “Sweet Sour” (little more mellow, but always gets me going in the beginning)…and a little blast from the past wild card: Def Leopard “Pour Some Sugar on Me”! Lol

That’s so cool that you and Brittany got to meet for breakfast! I cannot imagine running without music so I totally would do the same thing… My usual go-to is Pandora but I hate having to skip songs mid-run so I’ve been trying my best to write songs down and then add them to my playlist 🙂

hey! Way to go on your race, I hope the weather was okay!! It snowed here last week and dropped our temps back down into the 30’s… ugh.. not fun!!
I always throw back to good ole AC/DC sometimes during races…gotta love the 80’s! HA!
Anyway, I can’t wait to meet you at blend! We are going to have a blast!

LOVE Brittany! My weekend with her and John David has been one of the highlights of my year, and that is no joke. I wish I could have been there with y’all. 🙂

Can’t wait to hear about the race!

I love that you and Brittany met up after your race! Oh man, I wish I could have teleported there and joined you!
As much as I love music and it gets me pumped, I NEVER listen to it during races! I feel like you miss out on so much!
