I hope everyone had a good weekend! I’m trying to get ahead on some of my blogging these next few weeks in an attempt to prepare for my upcoming trip to Iceland, hopeful busier schedule (fingers crossed to be working again soon!), and let’s get real, just up my blogging game again. I’m playing around with a few ideas right now but I’m going to keep that quiet for the time being as I try to get the puzzle pieces together. Don’t you love a little anticipation? 😉
Anyway, one of the things I’ve been doing for the last few months is setting a daily fitness challenge. I’ve done push-ups, burpees, and planks. While I try to work out more days than not each week, even on my rest days, I would try to take a minute to get my daily challenge done. It was just enough to get my heart rate up.
I have been enjoying this so much that I plan to continue my daily fitness challenge. As I was brainstorming what I wanted my next few months of challenges to be, I thought it could be fun to share it and maybe it’ll help inspire each of you to try something new!
- Push-ups
- Burpees
- Plank hold
- Squats
- Sit-ups/Crunches
- Jump rope
- Wall Sit
- Steps
- Minutes of stretching
- A combination of movements
While I know so many of us have Apple Watches, FitBits, Garmins, or some other step tracking device, how often do you actually hold yourself to your step goal? I may WANT to hit mine, but I know that it’s not uncommon for me to miss it by a few, several, or even many. Including it on this list is more about holding yourself accountable to that step goal every single day.
I will also add that for my past challenges, if I had to miss a day for whatever reason (or just plain forgot to do the exercise), I would make up for it. I keep a tracker in my planner and check it off every day that I complete it.
This is not an exhaustive list by ANY means but just a few ideas to get your wheels turning.
Have you ever tried a daily fitness challenge? What did you choose to do? Or what would you choose first if you started?
