2012 was quite the year – full of ups and downs. And while it’s so easy for us to focus on the downs, it’s just that much more important for us to focus on the great things that happened and fun things we did. And while I’m not one to make resolutions, I do enjoy making goals each year so that I have something to work towards. And since today’s the last day of the year, I thought it’d be fun to look back.
Let’s start with the goals I set at the beginning of the year:
-Complete an additional 30 days of yoga
- Didn’t happen but I continued my practice and that’s what counts
-Complete Jamie Eason’s Live Fit 12-Week Trainer
- Successfully completed the first 2 phases and most of the 3rd phase. I was unable to finish the 3rd phase due to illness.
-Complete a 10k
-Begin training for a 1/2 marathon
- I didn’t start training but I found a plan and have it waiting in the wings for some unknown future date. 😉
-Learn to rest, especially when my body is begging for it
-Plan my next move
-Continue to find my financial stability
- This was part of the reason for the move home. I’m getting there but there’s still room for improvement.
But like I said, this year was full of ups and that’s where I want my focus to lie. So here are some of the highlights of my year:
The Santa Barbara Stay-cation with my Amy
I bought a new car! Say hello to Betty!
I attended the Blend Retreat 2012 and met some of the greatest people ever.
Amy and I take Boston and NYC by storm!
I suck up my pride, say my goodbyes and leave LA and make my way back to CL.
Ran my first race ever! Followed by my first 10k and the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
Studied my butt off and passed the NASM CPT exam!
See? There were many great things this year. Sometimes we just have to look back to remember them and feel grateful for all we have and all we have achieved.
And in case you missed any other great reads this year, here are some of the top posts from 2012:
And because everyone loves a good laugh, here are some of the funniest search terms that have brought readers to my blog:
-”I say stupid things”
-”I stepped in gum”
-”How to get rid of black spot on leg”
-”Who is Danielle Fishel’s fiance?”
-”coffee IV drip”
-”15 ways to win a girls heart”
What were some of your favorite posts or memories this year?

Happy New Year!
We both had our fair share of challenges in 2012, BUT we made a ton of wonderful memories as well!! And, believe it or not we are making tremendous progress towards figuring out what we are meant to do when we grow up. I am thankful that in this last year I was able to live with my best friend (making LA much more bearable), to go explore so many wonderful places, move home to save money and sanity, and most of all for your friendship. Love you – cheers to many more wonderful memories and a kick ass 2013!
Yes, yes we did! Love you girl and can’t wait to see what 2013 has in store for us!
