I’m going to join the masses in saying I can’t believe it’s July! But seriously, I can’t! I’m pretty sure the July 4th holiday weekend snuck up on me and suddenly my friends and I are scrambling trying to figure out plans to celebrate the holiday.
But despite our scrambling, the one thing I have together is my snack. I’m not even kidding. My friends at Blue Diamond sent me some of their Blueberry and Toasted Coconut almonds and the first thing I knew I wanted to do was make a red, white & blue trail mix for the 4th.
Every year my hometown has a 4th of July parade…it’s never ON the 4th but it’s usually a good time regardless. It goes past my grandparent’s house so ever since I was a kid the whole family would get together, watch the parade and then move the party to the back yard for a picnic. We’d always eat snacks while watching the parade, our favorite being a yummy trail mix. This year, I might be bringing my own. 😉
I wish I could say the Toasted Coconut almonds made the trail mix, but they were gone within days of arriving and never stood a chance until I made it to the store to buy the remaining ingredients. It happens…ha!
The great thing about trail mix is that you can put in WHATEVER you want, however much of anything you want, but I will tell you this was a great little mix.
Ingredients:
-Blue Diamond Blueberry almonds
-Blue Diamond lightly salted almonds (they didn’t send these, but I did have them on hand!)
-Toasted Coconut Chips
-Goji berries
-Dried cherries
-Banana chips
I seriously could not stop eating this! Such a great snack to grab by the handful or enjoy in a cup while sitting along the parade route on Sunday. I may have already picked out all of the banana and coconut chips, so I better even it back out. 😉
What’s your favorite trail mix ingredients?
