As someone who has lived in multiple places, both far and wide, I have friends that are all over the country world. While many of us don’t exchange gifts, sometimes it’s fun to surprise a friend with a little reminder that you care, even if you’re miles apart.
The hardest thing when gifting friends (or family) in far-away places is that you’re battling shipping costs as well as the gift itself. So I came up with a few easy gifts for those friends and family who we won’t be seeing this holiday season.
1 – Starbucks gift card – whether you tweet them a gift or stick it in a loving card, this is a great way to tell them you care and let them treat themselves to their favorite drink!
2 – Stocking filled with fun things – last year I bought a small stocking and filled it with nail polish, an ornament and a few other things. It fit perfectly in a small package and was sent to one of my best friends. Money was tight but this was the perfect little gift.
3 – SpaFinder gift card – the gift of relaxation that someone can use in multiple spas across the country – can you go wrong?
4 – Flowers/Plants – 1800Flowers exists for a reason!
5 – JibJab card – they’re fun, funny, and are sure to bring a smile to their face! (My dear friend Amy, she never saw it coming…) 😉
What are your favorite gifts to send friends or family who are far away?

I love these ideas!! All my family is far away!
