5 Tips To Hit 10k Steps

36 Comments on 5 Tips To Hit 10k Steps

My FitBit died the other week. It was this quick and painful death (for me, not it). One day it just shut off, I gave it a reset and it was working again until the next day when it happened again. I was heart broken.

I reached out to their support and we determined it was a goner but I qualified for a replacement and waited as patiently as possible for it to come. The new tracker showed up on Wednesday, I got it charged and synced and yesterday I was able to get back to the grind. Who knew how much I would miss it?

Anyway, I thought it would fun to share a few suggestions on making sure you’re getting in your steps, whether you’re using a FitBit or another step tracker.

10k steps PIN

  1. Take the stairs
  2. Get up from your desk every hour
  3. Where can you walk? (Think: to the gym, groceries, work, if possible)
  4. Walk on your lunch break
  5. Take laps around the house

Do you have a FitBit or other step tracking device?

How do you achieve your daily step goal?

Oh really? I always pay attention to where I’m at before and after my run and it’s always been pretty spot on for me! I wonder why yours is that way?

I’ve had a lot of problems with Fitbit. Actually, my boyfriend’s first one had to be returned because it just died after a two months (through no fault of his own). My first one didn’t work right out of the box. The heart-rate monitor didn’t detect a pulse. The company replaced both products without hassle, but I’m not impressed with the construction, and I sure don’t trust my numbers. That said, I still use the damn thing daily!

I could do with tracking my steps more often! I have a tracker on my phone but never use it! Thanks for the tips though, I will definitely try to use them in my life ☺️

Ha yes, the fitbit can be quite fun to use when competing with fellow friends on steps! I have been a bit lax on this lately, so need to get back on some step challenges! They definitely help me be more accountable.

Love my Fitbit! I have a goal of 22k, as I hope to get 10k from exercise, and 10k from everyday movement. Or sometimes my son (he’s only 12, but has a Fitbit and trounces me regularly) have a goal to hit 10×10 … 10K by 10 am!

Great tips Katie  , It’s way too easy to take the β€œeasier” option, but once you get into a good routine it doesn’t seem as much as of an effect, lol. Running around at work and looking after two under 2’s never seems to give me a moment to stop, lol. I have a 3 Step System for Easily Completing my goals feel free to have a look http://simplicitygal.com/easily-reach-goals-3-steps/ . I’m a great believer in growing a strong mindset, if you want to see the results you’re going to have to do the work and in the end, it’s completely worth.

I think I’m the only one in the world without a fit bit haha. So I got a new phone and it has something called Life log which seems to be a tracking device and I don’t have a clue how to use it !!

Great tips! And the feeling when you hit your step goal! Even my boys like to come up and check how much farther I have to go. A quick run outside with the dogs or a game of basketball with the boys. It all adds up! Have a great week!!

These are great tips! I do all of them! And most of the time I reach my goal because even though I have an office job, I have to get up and walk around a lot and there is one flight of stairs I use all day long! Thank you, Katie! Glad you got your replacement!
