6 Personal Development Books Worth Reading

I’ve been reading a lot lately. Maybe not compared to others, but compared to myself (which let’s get real, that is what counts) and I am loving it. Sure most of the books I’ve read fall into the “personal development” realm (i.e. previously known as “self help”) but I have always viewed myself as a work in progress, striving to be a better version of myself than I was the day before.

The last several books I have read are definitely what I would call WINNERS. They’ve inspired and motivated me with my work and my personal life, while also making me think long and hard about what I want to do, where I want to go, and how I want to get there.

With that said, I wanted to share 6 of my recent reads that I think are well worth the time and attention, and will leave you ready to take on the day!

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

The Year of Yes by Shonda Rimes

The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris

Have you read any good books recently?

So many of my friends loved Big Magic and were so inspired by it! I have it on my shelf, just haven’t read it yet, but definitely want to soon! 🙂

You definitely have to add it to your list! I listened to the audio version but I think it’s one of those books better read physically because there’s a lot of pages I would have wanted to ear mark!

I really enjoy fiction books but for some reason unless they pull me in IMMEDIATELY, I have a lot harder time sticking it out. When it comes to a nonfiction book, I know the story may not be as strong and I have a different mentality around it, it’s kind of strange.

So many good books here! Loved Big Magic and The Happiness Project. I just downloaded Presence and can’t wait to listen to it on my drive to work. I’ve heard great things and Amy Cuddy’s TED talk was great!
