Despite the three trips to Seattle for work this year, my job doesn’t actually require much travel. I do love to travel though and as such, I embrace every opportunity that may come my way to do so. With that said, when I do travel, whether it be for personal or business purposes, I find it important to keep certain aspects of my life and routine in tact, at least where possible. This usually includes consistent bed and wake up times, eating mostly healthy foods (I will splurge to try a local favorite if it fits within the constraints of my food allergies), and especially important for me, staying active.
Now, my workouts may not look the same while I’m away, but I find the consistency helps make the transition back to my normal schedule easier, and since fitness is a huge therapeutic escape for me, it helps me stay sane and grounded. Even while in Seattle the other week, I got up a few mornings for a short run around the city before work and then walked the 30 minutes to and from the office each day.
Here are some essential pieces of workout equipment you can easily pack with you
With all that said and out of the way, I have pulled together 6 travel-friendly workouts (including some from my fellow bloggers) that require little to no equipment, and can be done in your hotel room, a hotel fitness center, or even at a nearby park, weather permitting.

We are traveling now and even though our hotel has a fitness center this is soooo helpful!
Thanks for these suggestions!! I am out of town the next two weekends, so these are some great alternatives when I can bring all my equipment with me. 🙂

We travel hours at a time in our RV. It is good to have these “go-to” moves to get my stretching and strength moves in. My bike goes everywhere with us also. Thanks for the new ideas to add to my menu also!
Great workout options! I need to get better about being active in general, but especially on vacation, when I’m probably indulging in everything 🙂
This is perfect–im traveling next week!

I always pack my running shoes and my swim gear when I travel. I do love some of these suggestions and I will definitely look into them. I have started making healthier choices and a constant workout routine is one of them. Thank you!

I almost always pack running gear and a few dvd’s as well just in case. I try to stay in places with gyms but that isn’t always the best option for work outs anyways! I always make a point to explore the city I’m in by foot, I find it the best way to exercise AND experience the destination at its fullest!
