A Day In The Life

When you work a job that doesn’t have a set schedule, your days can be very different and you have to be willing to accommodate what those days look like.  You also have to understand that when the weekend rolls around, it’s not necessarily your weekend.  I never mind working the weekends because to me there’s too many other people out and about and I can get the same errands done in less time during the week.

Plus, when you work weekends in a place where you get tips, busier usually means more tips and Saturdays are busy! (It’s the little things.)

Anyway, I thought it might be fun to share a bit of what my days look like, whether I work in the mornings, afternoons or have the day off.  Obviously some things change slightly depending on what’s on the agenda for that particular day (ie: workout vs rest day / long shift vs shorter shift / any other plans or appointments) but here’s an idea of what my days look like:

My days aren’t really that exciting (clearly) but they work for me and help me maintain a balance and get into a routine living back home again.  The biggest thing I have to work on is not getting sucked into stupid mindless TV and suddenly finding a good chunk of my day gone.  Aside from saving money by not having cable, the ease of getting sucked into it was another benefit of not having it when I was living on my own.  Totally making note for future. 😉

Any fun plans for your weekend?

Do your days look pretty similar or do they vary?

I like this idea! A day in the life…future blog post idea.

I know what you mean about needing a routine of some sort, it helps to have blocks of time where you know you will be working on this or that or working because otherwise procrastination happens (for me at least…and then I’m up till the wee hours working on homework, etc).

Some of my days look pretty similar, but some are pretty varied. I generally get up and go to bed within an hour of the same time every day, so that’s pretty consistent. I’d struggle to have my work schedule vary so much- I’m not a morning person!

What a fun post. Love seeing what your days are like. My daily routine is the same everyday, ha. Wow, did I just make my life sound boring or what?? lol
