A Few Random Things About Me

I thought it’d be fun to share a few random things about me.  Many of you may already know these things, many of you may not and hopefully you all learn something new.

1. I went to school for music at Berklee College of Music (in Boston), graduated with a degree in Music Business Management but my instrument was voice.  Yes, I used to sing.  Key word there is used to.  Yes, I know it’s sad.

I can't believe I'm choosing to share this photo...

2. In high school, I was one of the wives in The King and I and had to dye my hair black and be spray tanned so as to not look like a white girl from Illinois.  Instead, I looked like an orange girl from Illinois.

3. While you may catch me dressing up on Halloween, it’s one of my least favorite holidays.  It’s probably right behind Valentine’s Day…

I just look thrilled...

4. I’ve only ever been outside the country overseas one time.  I went to Paris with my family and it was glorious.

5. When I moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles over 2 1/2 years ago, I did the drive by myself.  It would have been awesome but I got stuck in Beaver City, Utah for 5 days needing a new transmission in my car.  Focus – 1, Katie – 0

Can you honestly call this a "city"?

6. My favorite flower used to be yellow roses and while I still think they’re pretty, I’m moving away from them as a favorite.  I’ll let you know when I figure out my new favorite.

You can learn more about me here.

Is there more you want to know? Ask away!

And please help me plan my stay-cation! It starts tomorrow!

Don’t remember how I came across your blog…but I just moved from NJ to the LA-area too…we ALSO stayed in Beaver, UT on our drive here. We had just driven through whiteout blizzard conditions between Arches National Park and the hotel and after checking in, we found out the nearby diner and Mexican restaurant were both closed. We tried to drive around more to find something for dinner but the best we could do was the Burger King across the highway.
