First and foremost, I want to thank you all for your kind words on Thursday’s “Seeking Motivation” post. As we all know, sometimes life throws us curve balls and we have to find the best way to bounce back and last week that was exactly the case and I needed a few days to gather my thoughts and pick myself back up. I appreciate you all and your love and support so very much!
Can we talk about this fall weather though? I am LOVING it! We had a couple warmer days but it cooled back down and the trees definitely peaked about mid-week! My drive to and from work was absolutely STUNNING; I loved it! I swear every time I see a row of brightly colored trees, I get a massive smile on my face and am reminded to be grateful that I live in a place where fall and Octobers are a real thing…this just seems fitting.
We also all know that this is perfect running weather too, so I’m absolutely in love! Of course, my early morning pitch black 5am runs still happen in the fitness center and on the treadmill (#safetyfirst) but to get out for a weekend run or just a walk to enjoy the gorgeous weather is absolutely perfect.
Speaking of weekends, I’ve been switching them up a bit and really loving it. I usually rush myself off to the early morning yoga classes both Saturday and Sunday, but since I haven’t been loving the Saturday morning flows lately, I decided to skip them the last couple weeks and instead sleep in a little bit later, take my mornings a bit slower, head to the fitness center to lift some weights and then mosey on over to the grocery store and whatever other errands or push the groceries to Sunday and just spend Saturday on the couch, under a blanket and writing/working on blog stuff. Either way, this little change to my Saturdays has been so lovely and I’m really grateful for these moments.
I’m also grateful for new music. Seriously. Lately I’ve been loving Young the Giant’s new album, ‘Home of the Strange.’ Have you heard it? If not, be sure to check out one of the songs from the album below; it’s been great as part of my running playlist too!
I have a fairly busy next couple of days, but I have some time off from work I need to use before the end of the year so I don’t lose it and need to get in before the black-out/extra busy season really hits us so I’m giving myself a 3 day weekend next weekend. Winning.
How was your weekend?
What are you listening to this week?
Tell me one good thing!

I so agree on the colors of fall–Pennsylvania has beautiful falls! Enjoy your long weekend–its well deserved! I’m with you on the dark mornings though–its so depressing!

The darker mornings and evenings throw me off every year! I left yoga at 7:15pm last night and it was DARK! Maybe one of these years it won’t catch me so off guard. 😉
LOVE Young the giant! Also love that octobers quote 🙂
Young the Giant is SO good!!
Lazy Saturday mornings are my favorite!! And I love that quote from Anne of Green Gables. Octobers are the BEST.

ALWAYS happy to help others discover new music! 🙂
I am loving all the leaves and seeing the bright sun on my rides to work as well. Definitely helps put me in a better mood. I could never imagine living somewhere that didn’t experience Fall, it’s so beautiful!

During my 3 years in LA, Fall was definitely what I missed the most!
I love Young the Giant! But I haven’t jumped into their new album yet. I still have “Joanne” on repeat from Ms. Gaga. We still haven’t really jumped into the cold weather yet in Atlanta. It’s kind of chilly in the mornings and back in the high 70s by the afternoon. I need the 60s, at least. Slowly but surely we’ll get there!
I can’t say I’m a Lady Gaga fan, but would you say the album is at least worth checking out?
I love the music you share here–thanks!! I imagine this is very good workout music which I’m always looking for. Oh, this season–it totally rejuvenates me. I could do without the 6pm darkness, but I’ll take it 🙂 and love that quote about Octobers!

The early darkness is definitely throwing me off a bit, but the gorgeous trees totally makes up for it!
I am listening to “All Time Low” by Jon Bellion. It is so catchy and it’s been on repeat for the last three days! I’m not a fan of running, but I still love this new fall weather we are having in the midwest! Thanks for sharing.
Go listen to the acoustic version on Youtube!
I love our tribe. I love when ever anyone of us needs anything people are eager to help.
I’m so so so grateful for fall this year. Record-breaking heat last week – – this morning? Walking the dog? Zero boob sweat 🙂 🙂
