Are you ready for this? Probably not but it’s my birthday week and I can do what I want.

I have another giveaway for you.

But first another year older, another year wiser and sometimes getting older can be scary, sometimes it can be fun and sometimes it can just be downright crazy.  Cheers to the next year ahead and thank you for all of the birthday wishes!

Anyway, the people at Mira reached out to me to try out their new Stainless Steel containers.  And as soon as they arrived, I put them to work.  Remember this dinner before my 1/2 marathon?

photo-6These containers made it easy!

71bX3MiywgL._SL1500_Pasta in the green container, sauce and veggie meatballs in the orange container and for those of you cheese-eaters, the purple one would be perfect.  Easy peasy.

These are also perfect for yogurt lunches to-go.  Or fruit salads.  Or regular salads (my giant garbage bowl salads not included).  Or leftovers.  Or anything you can wrap your mind around.

A few other notes (from Mira):

  • Made of unlined 18/8 food-grade stainless steel
  • Non-toxic lids made of LDPE number 4 plastic
  • Free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead
  • Reusable

Downfalls? Stainless steel can’t be microwaved so you have to be sure you have packed a paper plate or are eating something that doesn’t need to be heated.  But that’s how it’d be with any stainless steel container.

That’s something I would do! HA! And seriously, I love the Nutty Butter jars – so much so that those WILL be reused once the Nutty Butter is gone. 🙂

So cool! My favorite brown bag lunch right now would have to be a big fresh chef’s salad with some fruit and nuts! Along with a fresh apple with some peanut butter! Yum!

That’s been my dinners lately! Especially with my new job I work until 6:30 or 7:30 every night which means by the time I’m eating, I’m STARVING! A big salad comes together quickly and tastes freaking DELICIOUS!

my favorite packed lunch is a salad with some sort of protein in it (either leftover chicken, deli meat, or chickpeas), dressing on the side, and a piece of fruit!

    Oh those are cool!
I don’t think I even seen stainless steel containers!
I keep paper plates at my desk anyway!!!

It’s usually quick for me to fix in the morning!
    Or night before 🙂
I love the saying Carpe Diem & C’est La vie. Both are tattoo’d on me!
Hope your bday week is going well!

Haha! That carpe diem one is awesome! Love the look of these cute little guys! I am always looking for good portable containers since I never leave for work without packing my lunch…I’ve even been late before just so I could grab something! I will not…I repeat WILL NOT eat in the hospital cafeteria! You can’t make me! Lol

Favorite brown bag…salad! Sounds boring…well, that is until you see MY SALAD combos! My latest obsession is “sushi salad”: spinach, snap peas, asparagus, cucumber, carrot, pickled ginger, sesame seeds, and TJ’s soyaki marinade for dressing! YUM!

I’m afraid to ask why you won’t eat in the hospital cafeteria…Not that I imagine there’s anything super appetizing but uh…yeah, I’m afraid to ask.

I love leftovers when I don’t have time to throw together a big salad. Sometimes I pack ingredients to make a couple of sandwiches with a side of cut-up veggies (cucumber, bell pepper) throughout the week, or I’ll bring an english muffin to eat with the peanut butter I keep stashed at my desk lol.

I love packing veggies with pita and hummus. Easy, filling, and doesn’t need to be refrigerated for a few hours.

YUM! One of my favorite lunches! (Though I haven’t had it for quite some time… 🙁

My favorite “brown bag” lunch is definitely a sandwich. If I have access to a fridge, though, I’m bringing whatever’s left over from last night’s dinner – that’s always my favorite lunch.

I like taking dinner leftovers or making a big salad. I would definitely use one of those containers for an obscene amount of fruit for snacks…
