Attitude of Gratitude – June 2019

June is almost over and while there were so many wonderful things this month, I have to be honest that I’m kind of happy to see it come to an end. This was one of those months where I admittedly totally overbooked myself. I had to board Poncho 4 weekends in a row (the 4th was just for one evening and ended up being totally unnecessary but he was already there). There were a lot of fun events, but I have to admit that I’m feeling a bit drained and after getting a taste of a semi-more “normal” weekend for myself, I’m looking forward to a July that gets things back on track.

Aside from the hectic schedule, there have definitely been some challenges this month and so I’m just going to start this whole thing by saying that I’m really grateful for this practice because it forces me to slow down and focus on the good from the month. It’s amazing how even just a few weeks since some of these things have happened, and I initially already forgot about them. This was the reminder that I needed that there’s been a lot of good and to focus more on that than on the other things that have brought about stress/anxiety/worry/etc.

Here are a few things that I’m feeling especially grateful for:

-Running Ragnar – this weekend connected me to a group of women in Michigan and reminded me that my body and mind are capable of moving mountains
-Returning to time on my mat – it’s been happening and it’s really a beautiful thing
-Seeing Hamilton with my family – the show was great and even though it was just 10 hours with my family, it was worth the trip down
-Working 2 yoga retreats 2 weekends in a row – these bring me so much joy and I hope I get to do more of them very very soon
-A long sunny walk with a friend – We grabbed juices and smoothies, and then walked and talked on one of my favorite trails in Grand Rapids and even after 2 ½ hours of chatting, it ended too soon

Thank you. Thank you for moments like this. Keep them coming.

It really is good to slow down and realize what good is happening in your life, especially when things seem really hectic or stressful. I can definitely understand that this month. Hopefully July will be better for all of us!!!

Being grateful changes everything! I’m currently doing a 100 days of gratitude project on my Instagram, and it’s really forcing me to see just how blessed I really am.

Taking the time to look back and find the things we are grateful and thankful for is so very important. Looks like you have been busy! Hope life slows down a little and gets back to the norm for ya! Have a great week!!
