August 2016 Goals

27 Comments on August 2016 Goals

I honestly can not believe it’s already AUGUST! I feel like I say this every month but it doesn’t stop being true when the months just keep flying by faster than I can keep up. Now before I get to my new goals for the new month, let’s see how I did with July’s goals…

  • Write a handwritten letter – check!
  • Start Instagram course – nope 😉
  • Start Google Analytics course – nope 😉

Side note: I did start a “creative non-fiction” course

  • Have a fun girls day – no girls day, but I did have dinner with some girls I don’t get to see very often
  • Try a new recipe – check! Pesto zoodles with baked cod!

  • Pitch at least one brand for blog idea – check! (Though I got a ‘no’ and a few no responses but at least it’s something!)
  • Finish two books – check! I read ‘You Are A Badass’ by Jen Sincero and re-read ‘The Defining Decade’ by Dr Meg Jay
  • Get ahead on blogging – I was a bit better about this but didn’t get as ahead as I was hoping to
  • Apply for at least 1 freelancing job (to get more of a side income) – check! But no word yet…

Overall, I would say I didn’t do too bad on my goals but I’m excited to do even better in August, so with that said, let’s get to it.

august goals

  1. Read 2 books
  2. Write 1 handwritten letter
  3. Work on a craft project
  4. Help my mom with garage sale – I actually already did this last weekend by going through boxes
  5. Go to the pool (I’m not kidding, I haven’t been yet!)
  6. Work on IG course
  7. Plan out content calendar through September
  8. Get 2 sponsored blog opportunities
  9. Work on strategy for a secret project
  10. Use a gratitude journal everyday

What are your goals for August?

Did you set any goals for July and how did they go?

You did great on your goals last month! I have You Are A Badass on my list of books to read soon! I really want to get better at planning my blog content out. This was one of my goals for last month and I did decent at it. Good luck at accomplishing your goals this month!

I love the idea of monthly goals…gives you something to strive which is awesome! I’ll have to do this too…put my thoughts into action!

I love the mix of your goals personal and professional. So wonderful! I hope you accomplish them all!

I love this! I did okay with my goals for July but really need to focus and stay on track to accomplish my August goals. I am busy trying to put the finishing touches on a course I have been working on since April. I hope to have it go live in September. I hope you spend more time in the pool, it is my favorite way to relax and clear my mind.

I love your goals! I keep saying I need to write mine down too, although I do write down “Friendship goals” where I write a list of friends I need to hang out with in a given set of months – and make sure I do it! Living in DC everyone is very busy and I have to be more intentional about when I hang out with friends.

Those pesto zoodles look AWESOME. My goal is to remain consistent with my workout routine and learn how to better use Pinterest to drive traffic to my blog

I can believe it’s August either. I’m in denial about it. Are you developing these courses or taking them? My goals are getting ahead on blogging by setting up and editorial calendar, start using Snapchat, and put more work into an online class I’m creating. I should probably read a book, too, since I keep buying them and they keep piling up.

Awesome list of goals! I’m working on trying to read and journal more on a regular basis in my free time. I’m also working on trying to run at least 2 days a week and do an overall toning workout 2 days a week!

Love the gratitude journal idea! I also loved You Are A Badass, but haven’t heard of the other book you read. I’ll check it out! Your creative non fiction curse sounds interesting, are you writing a book? I just wrote down my goals yesterday too if you would like to take a peek!
