It’s been in the 90s and rainy pretty much everyday last week. You couldn’t sit outside (even if you wanted to) and soak up the sun while sitting on the porch sipping your morning coffee, you’d immediately end up soaked. Suddenly on Saturday, temps dropped a bit and as I sat outside on the deck eating my giant salad for dinner and wearing a long sleeved shirt to keep me comfortable in the chilly breeze, I just listened to the chilling, relaxing and oh so beautiful sounds of Birdy.
It was the perfect end to the day, the perfect start to my “weekend” (aka Sunday) and the perfect soundtrack to the moment.
Birdy is a new artist to me and while she appears to have a mix of covers and originals, I didn’t care, I enjoyed the music, enjoyed the moment and enjoyed the quiet (in my mind and heart as I listened).
The song that caught my attention though is called “Comforting Sounds” and I can’t get enough! I was hooked from one listen – to the song and to her pure, slightly eery tone.
What are you listening to today?

I’ve been really hunting for some new music so this was great!
Yesterday (Sunday) I listened to Duffy and Rogue Wave while taking a relaxing bath with epsom salts.
This weekend was FINALLY gorgeous outside in the midwest! The humidity dropped and the temps were perfect, thank goodness 🙂 I’ve never heard of Birdy – I’m going to have to check her out.
Birdies. Sitting on the patio writing, making sure cats don’t squelch birds’ tweets.
