Well, it’s another week for the books. TGIF, right?! The weekend couldn’t get here fast enough and as my coworker said during our call yesterday “Each day I’ve thought it was Friday…I guess that explains the week.” Sounds about right, girl! 😉
But another week down also means another week down in my training. On Sunday, I got in a great almost 7 1/2 mile run which I took along the river. It was such a great change of scenery and definitely made the miles go by quicker as I looked out onto the water and just took in the view.
I also worked on my marathon training plan…oy vey! I’ll have about 2 weeks between my half marathon and the start of marathon training but I really don’t want to lose my fitness during that time so I think I found a way to link the two that will allow my body some recover time post half but still keep it ready for a crazy few months ahead.
Let’s get to my workouts:
Friday 4/18
Strength – shoulders/abs
Saturday 4/19
Rest
Sunday 4/20
7.3 mile run
Monday 4/21
2 mile run
Strength – legs/abs
Tuesday 4/22
Strength – chest/triceps/abs
Wednesday 4/23
4.5 mile run
Thursday 4/24
Strength – shoulders/back/biceps/abs
I usually try to take Fridays a bit easier either as a rest day, active rest or cross/easier strength training but my running schedule got pushed around a bit this week and plan to get in a 4 1/2 mile run today and then rest tomorrow. Maybe even a massage… 😉
What’s your weekend like – any fun plans?
How was your training this week?

I didn’t know you were running a half! You will be uber-prepared running the half and THEN starting your training! 🙂
