While it may not really feel like it (or look like it), spring is right around the corner. In fact, tomorrow we even spring forward an hour! And while I’m ready for spring, I don’t want to forget all that winter brought about – the good, the bad and the not quite there.
Last year was all about creating bucket lists and really trying to live up and enjoy each moment. I created a summer, fall and winter bucket list. I think I’m going to pass on creating one for spring but I wanted one final check-in on my winter bucket list to see how I did.
2. See a movie in theatre
I was invited to see Les Miserables as a pre-screen and it was so good! I’m awful about getting out to see movies, so it was great to have an excuse to head out to the theatre.
3. Get a pedicure
This is a mother-daughter tradition for the one or twice a year we’re all in the same place.
4. Make a snow angel.
Despite all the snow we’ve had the past couple weeks, I have yet to plop my butt in the snow and make a snow angel. Someone remind me to LIVE.IT.UP!
5. Drink hot chocolate with marshmallows.
I may eat a mostly clean diet, but sometimes you have to change it up and enjoy some warm comfort. So I did.
6. Read 2 books
I read 1 book and despite the giant stack of books on my night stand, I’ve only finished The Defining Decade.
7. Have a girls weekend.
Nothing beats a weekend with my beautiful Blends Amanda and Calee. 🙂
8. Shovel snow
Yes, I wanted to do this. And yes, I did it. And I got quite the workout.
9. Get another job (additional or new)
Working on this…
10. Get my own place
Working on this too…though it’d be easier with a roommate. Anyone have any leads in the Chicago-area? 😉
It’s fun to look back at the great times I had this season and look forward to what’s to come, with or without a bucket list set.
What are some fun things you did this winter?
What are you looking forward to doing in the spring?

I’m not sure I told you that I read The Defining Decade! Thanks so much for the recommendation. I LOVED it, and I talked about it with so many people. 🙂
I have no contacts in the Chicago area, but if I hear of anything…
Hi, stumbled upon your blog for the first time and I am impressed. Loved your writings..
Loved the idea of winter bucket list 😀 Subscribed and looking forward to more interesting posts.

Hot cocoa is an absolutely must during the wintertime..even if it isn’t always the cleanest! 😉
I love the idea of a winter bucket list. It’s autumn here in Australia but I might put one together for that instead. I want to try at least 5 new recipes. Read 2 books. Go on 2 hikes. At least that’s my list so far
Oh man, I haven’t had hot chocolate in forever… that looks so good!
I LOVE this post! You rocked that winter bucket list 🙂 Nice work.
I’m so looking forward to Spring! Especially with all the cute spring clothes that are out right now! I’m really looking forward to getting back outdoors to run. I hate running in the cold so warm weather means more running for me!
We actually have a condo available to rent in Arlington Heights. Feel free to send an email to me if you’re interested!
This past winter, I really enjoyed doing the 24 Days of Togetherness with Bob in December. I want to make that an annual event now. At this point, I’m just ready for it to warm up–I love the summertime!
just sent you an email. 😉
