Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I got back into the swing of things with yoga teacher training after a 2 week break for the holidays and it was so nice to pick up right where we left off, but it’s crazy to think we are pushing the final half of training! I even scheduled my practical exam which is INSANE to think about!
Anyway, I thought I would keep things relatively light today with a little catch up “currently” style post. I’m going to share some great books with you later in the week that you’re going to want to add to your reading list, so come back on Thursday for that. 😉
Reading:
Actually just this morning I finished ‘Grit’ by Angela Duckworth. It was pretty interesting and definitely got me thinking about how “gritty” I am. I have a stack of yoga books to read but I haven’t quite decided what my next audiobook will be, despite a very long list to choose from. Any recommendations for me?
Watching:
I finished the newest season of Fuller House (judge me if you want) which was fun and the boyfriend and I have been watching Ultimate Beastmaster (which I always forget and call it “Beastmode” ha!).
Listening to:
Audiobooks. (see above book) haha! I’ve also been listening to a ton of podcasts! Some just for entertainment and some to learn new things. I probably owe you all a list of my newest suggestions soon!
Eating/Drinking:
Last week I made a carrot ginger soup which was AMAZING and I definitely need to make again. This week I picked up a couple bags of my favorite mix from Costco for lunches. It’s a mix of kale, brussels, broccoli with a delicious poppyseed dressing. Sure, I could probably make my own but convenience wins sometimes and this is tasty and pretty healthy.
Planning:
My trip to Los Angeles next month! One of my best friends eloped last year but they’re having a big reception/celebration this year. I haven’t seen her in awhile and I’ve never actually met her husband so I’m really looking forward to that. I’m also going to get to catch up with old friends and bring the boy along with me so it’s bound to be a great trip!
Feeling:
A little sick? I woke up this morning with a sore throat and have needed to blow my nose a ton. Gross. I immediately put myself on a Vitamin C, OnGuard, and Oregano protocol so I’m hoping it will pass quickly. That a TON of fluids will be happening today!
Loving:
One of my favorite things about this yoga teacher training has been witnessing how yoga appears off my mat. This shouldn’t surprise me as I’ve noticed many of the mental switches that have come with a regular practice, but the more I read and learn, the more I notice it and it’s absolutely fascinating!
Trying:
A new challenge. I’ve been following Tone It Up for several years now and usually enjoy joining in for the challenges. Today starts their “Love Your Body” challenge and I’m really excited for the accountability to get back into a fitness routine that feels good and eating better again. I probably won’t blog much about it (if at all) but if you’re interested in following along or joining in, I’ll be sharing my experience on my fitness Instagram account.
Learning:
All things yoga! And loving it. As I mentioned, my practice exam is scheduled for February 25th and my written exam is March 11th. I know it’s going to come up so quickly so I’ll be in study study study mode until then!
