And just like that, we’re nearly halfway through May. How did that happen? Time is flying by! I’m glad that winter has finally stepped aside and allowed spring to show it’s face. I’m excited for hikes in my neighborhood, upcoming trips, lots of time outside, and yoga on the deck. I’ve already done a few of these things but plan on there being a lot more of it to come!

Anyway, it’s time we catch up with what’s going on in life, both mine and yours!

Reading

My NASM CPT textbook (see more about this later), more of the Laura Ingalls Wilder series, and The Book of Hygge. I had heard good things about this book. I’m not sure what I think so far in terms of takeaways except that it’s making me want to move to Denmark. ha!

Watching

The Office! It’s the go-to when the boy and I are together and don’t want to think about what we’re watching, but I also have realized how many random episodes I have missed through the years so I’ve been re-watching from the beginning when I’m at home.

Listening to

The usual – lots of podcasts and audiobooks. Nothing is really standing out right now, so just the usual. Also, listening to my yoga playlists as I prepare for my classes each week.

OH! And then someone told me there’s new John Mayer which of course meant I had to find the new song and then listen to a bunch of old stuff too. Love me some John Mayer.

Eating/Drinking

After allowing myself to eat more convenient foods for a few months, I’m trying to get back into eating more green veggies and healthier foods again. I feel so much better when I eat clean but I got far too deep in the convenient foods lately. It’s been so nice to eat big plates of veggies again. They’re so good! I just needed that reminder. 😉

As for what I’m drinking…my fridge is SUPER stocked with sparkling water right now and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love it!

Planning

The final details on my trip to Iceland! It’s crazy to be in this world of unemployment and planning this international trip but this started before being laid off and so I wasn’t going to waste this opportunity! We’re less than a month away and I couldn’t be more excited!

Feeling

There’s been a lot of overwhelm lately, honestly. I’ve been about as optimistic and positive about this whole losing my job thing, but I can’t deny that I’m a human being and some days are harder than others. I think the fact that we’re past 2 months of this is starting to get to me. I had a couple really BAD interviews the other week that definitely took their toll, but am feeling a bit more optimistic again. I know what I deserve and won’t settle for less.

Loving

My essential oils. Since I’m home almost all the time lately, I’ve been trying new blends in my diffusers. My favorite lately is a mix of spearmint and lime. It’s SO good! I definitely recommend trying it for yourself. (Side note: I don’t totally promote it but if you ever want to learn more about oils, let me know!)

Trying

Still on the job hunt so still trying to find a new job. I’m honestly feeling this pull to pursue some personal goals/dreams especially during this time but it also totally scares the living daylights out of me. I think in reality, I want to find balance between a job that serves me, pays the bills, and makes me happy (most days), and then work on the other passions in my life as a side hustle (and maybe someday it’ll be more than that). Any advice? haha

Learning

I’ve decided to go through the process of re-certifying my NASM CPT (certified personal trainer) so I’m not necessarily learning something NEW, but re-learning things I may have forgotten or pushed to the back of my mind since I wasn’t using it.

What’s new with you? Catch me up on your life lately!
