Things are especially busy right now, though that was to be expected by adding yoga teacher training into the mix. I am not complaining though, as my heart is so full and I am so excited with the potential direction of many aspects of my life. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but I’m choosing to focus on the good things in the hopes of bringing more good and light into my life (and yours).
With that said, I thought it would be fun to catch up a bit today with a round of “currently.” I think it’s been a couple months since I did this, so what better time to get back to it:
Reading:
I’m currently reading ‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Tolle, which has been quite interesting. Obviously, I’m also knee deep in a few yoga texts as part of YTT.
While I’ve already finished it, ‘Braving the Wilderness’ by Brene Brown was SO good that it’s definitely worth mentioning! If you haven’t read it yet, read it. If you have read it, would you agree it’s a read for EVERYONE right now?
Watching:
Truthfully, I don’t watch much TV because there are other things I would rather do with whatever free time I have, but I must admit, I do enjoy taking a break for ‘This Is Us’ and if I’m going to throw on Netflix for a little background noise, I’ve been getting into ‘The Great British Baking Show’ thanks to my trip to Nebraska in September and watching it with Amanda.
Listening to:
Podcasts, podcasts, and more podcasts. The list of podcasts I listen to keeps growing, but I want to give a particular shout out to ‘Well Fed Women’ podcast (formerly “Paleo Women podcast” as they’re just speaking to my view and vision on health right now). If you’re not listening, I think it’s worth checking out.
Eating / Drinking:
With the drop in temperature this past week around here, I’ve really felt that shift into warm foods and beverages. I always love hot coffee, but now I’m also favoring hot tea and soups. I also can’t get enough of baked oatmeal cups and pumpkin muffins. They are so convenient for yoga teacher training and life on the go. I make a big batch and then keep in them in the freezer, taking out what I need when I need it.
Planning:
The next few months. Not even kidding. November and December are both B-U-S-Y. Some of that busy-ness passed this weekend, but just as I think I have an easier week ahead of me, something else comes up to prove I don’t. The good news is that I’ve been pretty good about planning ahead, carving out time for the things that keep me sane (I.e. yoga) and making sure I’m still getting a nutritious diet and adequate sleep.
Feeling:
While things are busy, I can’t help but feel excited. Excited for the fun plans, excited for the company I’m keeping around me, excited for the learning, excited for all of the yoga, excited for the moments when I truly allow myself to step away from technology, and excited for the direction and path I am on in this beautiful thing we call life.
Loving:
Fall. It got a bit cold last week, almost feeling more like winter for a few days, but the return to the low 40s this week, it’s back to feeling like fall. And I love it.
Trying:
I’ve tried a few new recipes lately which has been really fun and super yummy. I made some baked oatmeal cups and a Mexican slow cooker quinoa dish. Both were so delicious! I’ve been feeling in a bit of a food rut so it’s been fun to play around with some new recipes, especially when they’re still super easy to make!
Learning:
Yoga, yoga, and more yoga. And I am not even remotely complaining about it.
What’s going on with you lately?
