I feel like it’s not uncommon for bloggers to say “no day is ever really the same” and honestly, while it may be true, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s interesting to get a glimpse into those days.
This isn’t my first time sharing a “day in the life” style post, but since I only blog Monday-Friday, I seem to assume, you’re only interested in what’s happening Monday-Friday. Maybe that’s true or maybe it’s not, but I figured I’d share a little insight into what my weekends look like with a day in the life weekend edition!
(My most recent Day In The Life post!)
Side note – I decided to track my day on Sunday and as I finish writing this post, I’m amused that it also answers yesterday’s Daily Aspire prompt. Totally an ironic coincidence!
7:00am – Alarm goes off, snooze.
7:11am – Alarm goes off again and I scroll through social media on my phone.
7:20am – I get out of bed and head almost directly to the kitchen to pour myself an iced coffee.
7:24am – It’s a much needed laundry day (plus my fitted sheets keep coming off my bed – annoying!) so I strip the bed and remake with new sheets that stay put! It’s the little things, people!
7:32am – Ahhh…so much better!
7:41am – Breakfast time! I prep 2 rice cakes with coconut oil, cinnamon and banana, plus my giant cup of iced coffee.
7:58am – Laundry time! They ask we wait until 8am to use the laundry rooms and since I have to work later, I need to be sure I’m the first to the machines! Two loads in!
8:12am – With laundry in, it’s time to start food prep. I save myself a LOT of time by going with the precut veggies at Trader Joes. I don’t always do this but lately, it seems to be the only way I make semi-interesting and varying meals. (ha!) During this time, I’m also switching laundry as necessary and getting ready for job #2.
10:45am – I have to be at work at 11 and it’s a beautiful day out, so I walk. It’s only about a 10 minute walk, so it’s definitely not bad on a day like this.
11am – We open and can tell it’s going to be a SLOW day. I can’t say I blame everyone for enjoying the sunshine instead of coming in. I make sure to take my lunch break outside, like I did Saturday night to enjoy it a bit myself.
6:15pm – Off work and I walk home, change into my running gear, eat a rice cake to tide me over and drive to a nearby new-to-me trail.
6:50pm – I’m still trying to talk myself out of the run because I’m exhausted, but I’m dressed, I’m here and I promise myself it’s okay to keep it short since I’m tired and it’s definitely warmer than I’m used to running. It’s a short walk from parking to the trail head but it makes the perfect warmup.
7:11pm – Run done, back at the car and headed home.
7:30pm – Dinner is a mix of food prep extras and hardboiled eggs. It may sound like a strange mix but it was actually quite delicious and served me well!
8:00pm – I work on Monday’s blog post, chat with friends and try to get everything ready for the week. The night is just FLYYYYYYING by and I don’t nearly get done everything I hoped.
10:00pm – Later than I would have liked but I’m finally climbing into bed. I scroll through my phone for a few before turning it off and falling asleep.
Side note – usually my nights consist of some nighttime tea and lavender oils dabbed on my wrists, neck and temples but I was so tired and the night got past me that I forgot. I had a pretty horrible night sleep and I’m sure it’s related.
What do your weekends usually look like?

Way to get it done! Its 10 am saturday morning and I’m waiting for my last dryer load to finish up, then its yoga, cleaning the bathroom, and a free creatives workshop. I’m also thinking of going to an outdoor showing of “purple rain” I had hunter hays tickets, but that would require a drive, and i think the movie is more appropriate with the passing of Prince.

Looks like a healthy, productive day! My days are crazy right now, and no two are the same with two little ones.. we’re still getting adjusted to our new normal!
You sound so busy! And I can relate with feeling like time is just flying by. That always seems to happen on the weekends, when I want to relax and enjoy some time off of work. And the rice cakes sound delicious! I’m going to have to try that out soon.

I’m intrigued by the rice cake concoction you had there! And thanks for giving me a glimpse into your day. It’s super interesting to read posts of this nature. Or maybe I’m just super nosy 🙂

Looks like you have a crazy busy life! I have to say I love having some nice relaxing time on the weekends. I do hit the gym and workout about an hour longer then I do during the week. Good for you for getting a small run in. I’m sure you were happy you did it. Love this! Thanks for sharing.

I just love rice cakes!
Im going to have to try that rice cake breakfast!
I forgot to note that I repeat it about 2 hours later…haha!
Aww, thanks for sharing 🙂 I always love these “day in the love of” posts. And yes, that drives me nuts re: fitted sheets coming off the corners of the bed. Grr!
Hope you’re having a great week and enjoying the sunshine!

RIGHT?! Who knew something so simple could be so annoying. I feel like the saying “it had ONE job…” fits in this situation… 😉
I LOVE reading Day in the life posts, they’re fun to read to get a glimpse into other people’s lives. 🙂
Girl, you don’t eat very much! Or at least on that day you didn’t seem to eat much!! I’d die, girl.
Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Oh assure me, I do! I realized I forgot to mention my breakfast was repeated about 2 hours later (breakfast #1 and #2), then I had lunch at work (a giant tuna salad) & carrots, an apple snack, and dinner was eggs and plantain. Somehow I missed those pictures but I promise I eat about 5-6 times a day or trust me, I’d die too. 😉
Oh good, I’m glad. 🙂

Sounds like a productive day to me. I love that you’re motivated enough in the morning to prep for dinner. My mornings (meaning anything before 10am) is not productive for me. Ever.

I am naturally a morning person which totally works in my favor for that. 😉
Very productive! Food prepping before 9am on a Saturday is super impressive! I should try the essential oils before bed, I often have a difficult time winding down at night. What brand do you like to use?

Girl, I even impressed myself on that one. 😉
I worked outside all day saturday. Church sunday morning and relaxing afternoon with friends and grilling out. Nothing over the top, just perfect weekend.

That sounds PERFECT!
I wish I could walk to work! That is very nice and convenient! I live about 10 minutes driving distance and on busy roads so I dont think I will be walking!

I wish I could all the time, but since this is a second job, I really wanted something that was SUPER close to my apartment! My full time job is a 25 minute commute. 😉
That whole part of your day given to work? Yeah… that would be netflix, lol

Girl, I WISH it was Netflix but alas, those darn bills…
