Yesterday was my birthday. And a splendid one at that.
I started my day with 1/2 a cupcake and a cup of coffee but the real deal came as Amy and I went off to S&W Diner in Downtown Culver City. What was on our minds were pancakes and I was assured S&W have delicious and thick pancakes that wouldn’t disappoint. And they did not.
I went with 1 over easy egg, buckwheat pancakes, a side of fresh fruit, and of course a cup of coffee. I nearly finished it all but was so stuffed I had to stop.
Thankfully this breakfast kept me full and well-fueled for our afternoon hike in Malibu.
You know how anytime you travel somewhere the best places to go are where the locals go? This is one of those places that locals would only know about but everyone would love. From the outside it looks like a whole in the wall, on the inside it’s got it’s own unique charm that makes you feel like you’re no longer in Los Angeles, and the food is enough to keep brining you back.
What are the local go-to places in your town?

Happy birthday. We love our vegetarian cafe in town. It’s connected to the oldest bar in town too.
Thanks! There’s a vegan cafe near by that I have been meaning to try!
