Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
Is anyone traveling for the holiday? I chose to stay in town again this year. We are about to start the busy season at work which holds potential for overtime, so I decided I wanted to hang around and if it presented itself as early as this weekend, I wanted to be there ready and willing to take part and help my coworkers. I’m going to miss my family but they understand why I’m doing this and know I’ll be thinking of them.
My plan for the day includes a special Thanksgiving yoga class, cooking a delicious meal for myself, laundry (ha!), putting up my Christmas decorations and hopefully a lot of relaxation.
There is so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving, from wonderful friends and family, a job that I enjoy, a new apartment where I feel comfortable and safe, an amazing online community (aka all of you), and having a creative outlet that fuels me in so many ways. I am so incredibly humbled by the beautiful life I have been given.
With all of the craziness, fear and stress that has been thrown at us lately pre and post election, as well as the stress that finds its way into our lives every single day (mine included), I keep thinking about the song “Imagine” by John Lennon and it brings me hope. I figured that today, more than any other day, it was the perfect song to share.
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
I hope that despite all of the crazy and stress and fear, today you can surround yourself with love, laughter and support. I hope you know that regardless of your sex, sexual orientation, religion, color or difference, there are people fighting for you and loving you. I hope that gives you something to be very grateful for today.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
What are you grateful for today?

I’m grateful to have my fiancé and best friend home for the holiday. My bestie deploys soon after and my fiancé goes to his first base before Christmas, so it’s nice to spend a little holiday time with them.
