“Hide” Little May

Music is a huge part of my life. This may be something that you know, are just realizing, or are about to find out. I’m not just someone who loves music and therefore listens to a lot of it; music is my life, it’s my career, it’s my outlet, it’s my language.

I’m a musician who doesn’t believe in her own art but you better believe I can throw my whole self into someone else’s, as long as I fully believe in what they can do. Sometimes it may be to a fault, but that’s just a part of me and who I am.

Being the music enthusiast that I am, I also love sharing music with people. Whether it be a song that really struck a cord in me, a new album worth listening to, or the playlist I’m using to get through my workouts lately. I guess in some way, I hope to open someone’s eyes (or rather ears) to something they may not otherwise listen to, as chances are it won’t pop up on the radio sometime soon.

The song I want to share today is from Little May and the song is called “Hide.” I first heard it on a playlist on Spotify and absolutely loved it! The melody may catch your attention but the lyrics tell a story. A hauntingly heartbreaking one at that.

Taking steps toward your door

I hadn’t let myself before.

Hear your name called,

She screams your name out

As you take her to the floor.

Think she likes it?

I feel so haunted in your bed.

Is it me or is it her that’s in your head?

And you found it,

And you drowned it,

And you washed it clean.

Feed me words while you had her between your sheets,

Bet she likes that.

See you dancing in the dark.

Can you see me count to three, no I won’t play your hide and seek (x4)

See you dancing in the dark.

What have you been listening to lately?
