A few months ago, I had the pleasure of teaming up with Influenster.  Here’s a bit about Influenster taken from their website…

So what did I get?

Product: Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

Thoughts: It definitely added some texture to my hair but even with hair spray wasn’t enough to hold my curls in place when wearing it down.  Now, when I wore my hair in a ponytail it was perfect to add texture to my ponytail.

Would I buy? Maybe from time to time or if I couldn’t find my current “beach hair” product

Product: Skinnygirl Daily On-The-Go-Bars

Thoughts: I wanted to like these, but I just couldn’t.  I should have been smart and avoided the product knowing it contained some dairy but I ate it anyway and within an hour didn’t feel well.  Aside from that, I did not like the long ingredient list or even the flavor.

Would I buy? No.  A product that makes me sick is almost never worth it in my opinion.

Product: Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response

Thoughts: I found this deodorant was great, that is until I tried running or working out.  It passed the “normal day” test but when it came to the gym sweat test, I found the scent (while nice on it’s own) became too perfume-y and messed with asthma making my workout challenging.  Bummer.

Would I buy? If I could find an unscented version – yes!

Product: Olay Fresh Effects Powered Countour Cleansing System and Shine Minimizing Cleanser

Thoughts: LOVED this! I’ve never tried a powered cleansing system on my face before so I didn’t know what to expect but I absolutely loved it.  I felt like my face was clean deep into my pores.

Would I buy? YES! And it’s only $12.99 so it’s definitely affordable for those of us with small budgets.

Thank you to Influenster for sending me the Sweetheart VoxBox and to each of the companies for providing product for me to try.  It’s always fun to try out new-to-me products and share with others.

**DISCLAIMER: Influenster sent me this box of products to try free of charge.  All opinions are my own.**

When was the last time you tried a new product? Would you buy it again?

Are you a part of the Influenster community? Have you even heard of it?

That is fun! I love Secret Clinical Strength…it has been the only deodorant I’ve worn for YEARS now. I must admit, in catching up with some other Bethenny Ever After episodes, I was curious about her SkinnyGirl bars. Maybe she is just stretching herself too thin with products?

  2. Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli

I just recently tried a new face wash from Biore. I usually use their combination skin cleanser, but picked up this warming pore scrub last time just to try it out. I used it for the first time last night and loved it! The warming sensation only lasts for a little while, but the scrub itself felt like it did it’s job without being too “rough” or drying!

I’ve never heard of the Influenster community. I always get nervous joining programs that send you “assortment” kind of boxes since I tend to be so picky about the products I use/eat.

  3. Jan @ Sprouts n Squats

I’ve never heard of influenster before. I’ve wanted to try skinny girl bars before but I don’t think they have them in Australia yet but sounds like we aren’t missing out anyway. Last new product I tried was a colored version of a nail strengthener I like called Revitanail. The colored one is good but not as good as the original.

  4. Michelle @ Eat Move Balance

I’ve never heard of Influenster, but it sounds like a great community. I always appreciate honest reviews of products, and am grateful if I can sample something before spending money. There’s nothing worse then buying something to find out it’s awful! But I’m all for supporting a company/brand when I know I like their product.
