January 2016 Goals Recap

One of my plans at the beginning of the year was to focus a little less on YEARLY goals (though I do still have them) and focus more on monthly goals. Something that feels a bit more manageable with it being over the short term.

With that said, I thought it would be fun to check in on my January goals:

1. Read a book (cover to cover)

Even better, I read two! One physical, ‘Influencer Marketing For Dummies’ and one as an audio-book, ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’ by Tim Ferris. I have really been loving long walks on the treadmill before work while reading (followed by a HIIT or quick strength session). At work I love listening to podcasts while I schedule posts or watch post performance, but after one particular week where I listened nearly non-stop, I caught up on a lot of missed episodes and found myself needing something else to listen to so I figured “why not an audiobook?” Sure enough, it’s just as good! ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’ does require you to pay attention so there were a few times when it was too much and I needed to turn it off and there are a few things that I think would make it an easier  READ vs LISTEN but it’s still a MUST for everyone looking for more out of their lives!

2. Launch DailyAspire.com

Check, check, check! I have been so thrilled with the reaction to DA and if you haven’t already, I highly urge you to check it out and tell your friends! 😉

3. Yoga 2x/week

This was a big fail. Okay, not that big. I did do yoga, but only once or twice. I’m still not sure why because I love it and I love how it makes me feel, I just constantly make excuses to not to do it or put it off til later (which just doesn’t happen).

4. Get a part-time job for additional income

With the final paperwork wrapping up, I think it’s safe to say…check!

5. Send 1 handwritten letter

Check! This is one of my favorite goals every month! It’s hard sometimes to come up with something to say, but even a note saying “I’m thinking of you” is fun mail to receive, right? 🙂

How did you do on your goals for January?

Or if it’s more your style, how are your resolutions going?

Make sure to come back next week and see what my goals will be for February!

This past week I didn’t make my yoga goal either. Instead I saw a bunch of friends I don’t usually see. So I’m not too upset, but I definitely hope to get to 3 classes this week to make up for it.

Thank you, Lindsay! My sister happened to catch that while we were hiking in Hawaii. I asked her to take some shots for a fitness apparel review but this one was just TOO perfect to not keep around longer! 🙂

My January goals was actually to keep my new year’s resolution which was peace within.
I am glad that I did. So, so happy! February goals will be more specific.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I appreciate you so much for that!

My yoga goals have been a complete fail, too! We were snowed out two sessions and I’ve been sick for 3 other sessions. Hoping for a better February! I love the goal of sending a handwritten letter.
