Little Black Submarine

I’ve never been a huge fan of The Black Keys, I’ll be honest but from time to time some of their music catches my attention.  This is one of those times.

Music Monday

I was driving around a couple weeks ago when this song came on the radio.  I didn’t even realize it was The Black Keys.  I was really digging the slow, melodic start when suddenly the song turned to this awesome powerful jam.  Do you know what song I’m talking about?

It’s called “Little Black Submarines” and I’m loving it right now.  I play the song on repeat and just wait for the moment when the song explodes with energy.  I think what I love so much about this song has nothing to do with the recording but rather visualizing this song live.

If you’ve ever tried to talk to me about music or bands, then you know I’m a strong believer that if you can’t make a live show worth anything, then you better go back to the drawing board and try again.  That was one thing that I loved so much about working with The Lumineers and watching their progression as artists, especially when it came to their live show.  That band mastered going into the audience, gathering people around them, sharing their energy and feeding off the crowd’s energy to create some really powerful and fun experiences – even if only for 1 song.

I haven’t seen The Black Keys live and I’m not sure I ever will, but this song should be played live and as long as they do it right, this song will be huge!

What’s a song you’re loving by an artist you don’t usually listen to?

Whatever the song being played on WXRT by Django. Can’t seem to get it out of my head. Then again, there’s a lot I can’t seem to get out of my head. 🙂
