People often make comments about this being a “year-long vacation” but I can assure you it’s quite far from that. Yes we are making sure to take time to enjoy our constantly changing surroundings, we’re definitely working our tails off more often than not. But with that said, one of my favorite things is that not only do we get to meet new friends but we get to see friends who live far away when we come through their area.
And over the weekend, I got to see one of my super close friends, Brittany and meet my little blog-nephew Baby Delight! 🙂
Somehow Brittany and I made it through the weekend without getting a picture of the two of us (gasp!) but we did get one of Sam, Clare and I at dinner Friday night. Un-pictured obviously being Brittany and Baby Delight.
The weekend also meant a lot of great coffee so you know I was loving that! Saturday Brittany took us to Quills which is a favorite of theirs and it definitely did not disappoint!
Then yesterday before leaving town, Sam and I decided to visit Churchill Downs before leaving the area but first we decided to get a little work done and were recommended to stop at Sunergos Coffee which wasn’t far. While the internet was slow as molasses and made work hard, the coffee was delicious so I made sure to leave with a bag I can brew in the RV.
After leaving coffee, we made our way to Churchill Downs to see where the Kentucky Derby takes place. That place is massive, beautiful and really cool! Sam and I took a tour and wandered around the museum for a bit.
But let’s get real…we also played around some.
Because deep down we’re really just kids at heart.
It’s not always fun and games but were getting better about making time for fun, relaxation and of course, visiting friends we don’t get to see often.
I hope you all had a great weekend as well and have a marvelous Monday!
What’d you do this weekend?

So glad we got to see y’all this weekend girl! Love you and be safe!
Love you! <3
I love being able to try more local coffeehouses, and really think it will be something to try and do when I travel more! I’d love to visit Ethereal Confections at some point in my life. =) We went on a kitty hunt this weekend; no luck at any shelters (yet!). Otherwise, it was a relaxing one for me, which was MUCH needed after a commitment filled week last week!
You’ll definitely have to visit Ethereal but not until we come back.. But meanwhile they do ship if you were looking for a chocolate fix. 😉
I had to share this because I illustrated a quote about play just two days ago! http://thedailyquipple.com/a-happy-and-necessary-talent
I would love to check out Churchill Downs especially not in May when it’s probably more relaxed. How fun!
It was so beautiful but definitely kind of made me want to go to a derby!!
