May 2020 Goals and Intentions

Comments Off on May 2020 Goals and Intentions

What a month, right? April brought many things, including moments of joy and moments of complete heartache. I turned another year older, held my first virtual yoga class, set boundaries with my team for working remotely, celebrated Easter virtually with family, and mourned the loss of my cousin while isolated alone. It’s hard to wrap my head around everything, but I will say that I’m so grateful for the friends, family, and my coworkers who have supported me through it all. While I’m sure your month has also been full of many highs and lows, I’m hoping that you find yourself today healthy, safe, and content (despite the ever-changing landscape of our reality).

You all know that I enjoy setting goals and intentions for my month. This helps me give purpose to my days and honestly, it’s helped keep me moving forward each day of this time of social distancing. I’m hoping in May to start breaking my goals down into more manageable tasks to do each week which I also hope will help me feel more productive and focused for however much longer this goes. I’m not sure what this will look like yet, but if I find a way, maybe I’ll share it next month. Anyway, let’s start by looking back on my goals for APril and see how they went:

April 2020 Intentions

WORD: Anchored (this is how I want to feel AND show up for others)

-Finish creating my new program (!!!!) and decide on launch date – Nope, but I’m hoping to refocus my energy towards this program in May
Host online restorative yoga & meditation event to give back to Feeding America – Yes! And I got some great feedback. Thanks to everyone who joined.
-Start client verbiage document – Nope, let’s try that again this month.
-Connect more on Instagram – uhhh, this was a tough goal to set for myself because it can’t be measured (I know better)
Support 2 local GR businesses this month – Check! I actually supported 3: Rise Authentic Bakery, Donkey Taqueria, & Maru Sushi
Read 4 booksYes! While there was still a lot of screentime, I did read 4 books which I’m really proud of.

I started practicing yoga and meditation during times in my life when I was feeling really down, stressed, and anxious. These practices have changed my life and in so many ways also saved my life.⁣ ⁣ Over the last two years, I’ve learned that it’s my purpose to share these practices with people who can benefit from them. I don’t always know what/how that looks but with each day that goes by, I get a little more reassurance that this is my path.⁣ ⁣ Today, I feel heartbreak, sadness, and a grief so heavy it’s crushing and I am leaning on these practices more than ever. ⁣ ⁣ I did a guided meditation this morning which began with these words that resonated so deeply into my being: ⁣ ⁣ “As human beings, the most powerful emotion that we can feel is love. All other emotions that you can feel, from joy to sorrow, are just components of love. Therefore, we needn’t hide from them ‘cause any pain you may feel is simply a form of love and as you surrender to it, the power of love will flow through your body and guide you.”⁣ ⁣ For anyone who is hurting today, let love guide you. Your pain is rooted in love. If you need someone to grab your hand, be your shoulder, or hold space for you, I’m always here. I love you.⁣ 💜

May 2020 Goals

Intention: Ride the wave

We don’t have a lot of control right now and there are so many emotions that come up with this time, so I’m trying to use this as an opportunity to just ride the wave and take it one day at a time. Additionally, this includes riding the wave of grief. I know I’ll have my good days and I’ll have my bad days. Instead of judging myself for it, I’m riding the wave.

-Finish creating my program and decide on a launch date – It doesn’t need to LAUNCH this month, but I want to feel solidified with what I have and know I’m working towards a date.
-Read 4 books – again, less screen time
-Create client verbiage document
-Connect daily on Instagram – even for only 20 minutes, I want to engage and check in with you all
-Drink at least 80 ounces of water per day – I’m tracking to help keep myself accountable
-Complete Running Reset Training – I’m on week 3 of 6 as I work on rebuilding my base
-Attend virtual development conferenceThis was on Saturday so I already completed this goal! Wahoo!
-Complete the work for my NASM CE Coaching course – I’d like to take the exam in June, but finish up the book and online work this month

Are you setting any goals for this month? What are you working towards? How are you DOING?
