Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, I want to have a chat. Nothing crazy, nothing super serious; I want to talk about clothes. More specifically, workout clothes.
I don’t consider myself fashionable, never really have (probably never really will). And this is no different when I head to the gym. I generally wear some combination of COTTON capris, running shorts, cotton tank tops, or one of the few cute workout tops I own. And then my ever so worn out cotton headbands to help control some of the sweat from dripping down my face.
You may notice cotton is pretty prevalent in my list and if you’ve ever gone to the gym, you’ll also know cotton shows sweat wherever it may be. And there’s nothing pretty about it…I’ve slowly been trying to transition but good workout clothes aren’t cheap and in fact, sometimes overwhelming.
I think I found the solution.
I don’t want to sound like a commercial, but I’m honestly really excited to share this with you. Over the last couple of months, if you read any other fitness blogs you may have heard of PVBody, or more recently, their new endeavor, Ellie. PVBody was designed as a monthly fit fashion club – for $49.95 per month, you get sent 2 pieces of personalized fitness gear. They quickly learned the challenges of making this happen with brand name gear. So what’d they do?
They created their own line. In fact, each month they create a NEW line.
And there are two ways to join – become a member and receive any two pieces of your choice for $49.95 per month OR shop the collection and buy any single piece at it’s designated (and reasonable) price.
When the company reached out asking if I wanted to try two pieces from their line, I was stoked! I got to pick from the February collection and chose the Heartbreaker Capri and After Dark tank top. I got smalls in both; the tank fits perfectly and is super cute! It has a built-in and for any girls with larger “girls” you may need an additional sports bra for support, but I found I didn’t need anything in addition to feel supported.
The pants are also really comfortable and I LOVED the confidence of their sweat-wicking material. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is where it sits on my waist…it’s in just the place where I felt slightly self-conscious of my mid region while paired with a tight top. (I should also note this was probably all in my head and the Ellie February Look-Book even notes it’s a “low rise” capri…)
Stylish; moisture-wicking; made in the US; chafe-resistant (!!!); COMFORTABLE; QUALITY; and where you get to CHOOSE what’s best for you – what’s not to love?
And let’s be honest, I’m totally eyeing some pieces from the March collection – Ellie doesn’t mess around! 😉

What do you look for in your favorite workout gear?
*Disclaimer: I was sent these pieces free of charge but all opinions are my own.

I had NEVER been into workout gear until I started running, and now I tend to just look for bright and comfortable. Oh, and inexpensive. 🙂 Luckily, I don’t have many things to worry about ‘holding in place’ if you will, so I have the luxury of wearing most anything. My recent obsession with yoga makes me want to invest in some yoga clothes, though.
I’ve seen a lot of cute Ellie stuff on people’s blogs! I’d sign up, but I already have a slight problem with going to TJ Maxx and buying clearance workout clothes. Haha!
Definitely comfort with a little style when it comes to workout clothes. I got my Ellie shipment the other day but am not sure I’m keeping it. The top is cute but I don’t like the fabric. I feel like I’m wearing a basketball jersey! The bottoms were too short 🙁 I’m debating if I want to get next month or not… I really want to like them since it’s such a great concept!
Bummer! Which pieces did you try?
They have some cute shorts in their March line but I’m afraid they’d be too short…
Good for you! “Sweat-wicking” makes me giggle. 😉
lol…
I was pleased with my first shipment from Ellie as well. So far, so good! I got the pink tank–and it’s adorable.
Oh yes! I was eyeing that one too! 😉
