Last week I shared my health update with you all and with that, one change I’ve started are morning apple cider vinegar shots.
I’ve been hearing people talk about taking apple cider vinegar for a few years now. Many would take it first thing in the morning, but it has also been recommended to me to try before every meal. Honestly, I had a hard time keeping up with that and finding the right amount of ACV for my body. Plus, a straight shot of ACV isn’t quite so appealing.
Recently though, I started doing more research and really wanted to try taking it again, it’s so good for you, your digestion and metabolism so I researched a few different recipes, played around and came up with my very favorite morning Apple Cider Vinegar cocktail.
1 TBSP organic honey
1 TBSP apple cider vinegar
1 dash cayenne pepper
Juice of 1 small lime or lemon
6-8oz sparkling water (plain, lemon, lime)
YOU GUYS, it’s GOOD!
Anytime I heard people talk about how they thought their morning ACV tasted good, I thought they were lying, like “come on guys, I’m not that naive.” No, I was just WRONG (I don’t say that often ;)), but in this case, it was true. If I put in a little too much cayenne it may be a bit too spicy but otherwise, it’s just delicious!!
Note: make sure your sparkling water is just that – sparkling water! There can be a natural citrus flavor, but make sure you’re not picking some sparkling water wannabe with added sugars or ingredients. You can also use still water, but I love it with the sparkling!
Are you an ACV fan? What’s your morning cocktail like?

Oh yum…I never have added honey to mine but going to try this one:)

Do it!! It’s so good!
This sounds great I also drink ACV every morning I like this recipe though I have to try it.
I have totally heard of this, but I admit that I’m a bit scared to try it, because I really don’t like the taste of ACV. You are one brave lady!

With this recipe, I don’t taste the ACV!
Great idea! I do my ACV in shot form… 2 parts pear juice and 1 part ACV. It burns, but I get it down and I’m good for the day. I’ll have to try adding some honey and sparkling water next time.

I used to always start my day with ACV but haven’t for a while. It’s really something I SHOULD be doing – especially as my skin is all sorts of crazy at the moment.

I’ve gotta try this, mustering the courage…
I used to make a really yummy apple cider vinegar salad dressing but haven’t had one in a while. Would love to try this cocktail–sounds good (and tummy friendly!).
XOXO

I should try this! I’ve been drinking lemon water and every once in awhile add ACV but I really hate the taste. But maybe mixed with more things like that…

I haven’t gotten in the habit of taking ACV. That will change with this recipe. Thanks for sharing it.

I have not heard about this before and was unsure when I was first reading this post. But then I got thinking and thought why not? I did just buy some apple cider vinegar last week so maybe I will check it out. Thanks for the information.

I am one of those people who likes the flavor of apple cider vinegar. One of my friend showed me how to pour the ingredients in a glass jar, put the lid on then shake to stir everything together.
I make a similar drink to this in the mornings too! I will have to try this version though!

Thanks for sharing! I used to have a little bit of apple cider vinegar with water in the mornings, but I just couldn’t get past the taste, so I switched to lemon water for my healthy morning drink–will have to try this since it sounds like a great combination of the two!

ACV is really tasty in my mind. Bragg’s makes pre-made drinks that I love! Limeaid I think it’s called! 🙂
Hmm! I have all of those ingredients except sparking water. I would do it with regular, as I don’t prefer the fizzy stuff. I always read about acv helping improve skin conditions among other things. Thanks for the extra prompt.

I take apple cider vinegar every morning can’t stand the taste. This will help me get all the good stuff down.

I need to get into this habit, I don’t mind the braggs drinks that you can buy, and this is clearly the more cost effective option.

This one actually sounds good–i haven’t tried it yet because i found it so gross. But, with these additions it sounds manageable!

I go through phases with this, but it’s so good!!! The one thing I always wonder is can I do the ACV before I run or should I do it after… I feel like I should do it after.
