Thank you to everyone for your kind words on my Thinking Out Loud post last week. Sometimes it’s hard to share the not so perfect side of things. We put up this mask of how our lives are and we share the good times but as we all know, things aren’t always pleasant. Sharing the not so pleasant moments isn’t easy or always fun, but it makes us REAL.
Last week’s Music Monday was about music that makes me feel something. Today’s is music that helps me relax.
As I sat in a coffee shop in Kansas Saturday morning with a to-do list a mile long and more overwhelming than anything (I have a tendency to add more things to my list faster than I can cross anything off), I stuffed ear buds in my ears and turned the music up to help block out those around me and just get in a zone.
Sometimes it’s easy to get distracted and I need whatever I can to get in the zone, focus and get things done. My todo list will always be a mile long and sometimes I just have to remind myself that I can only do so much and then find the best way to support myself through it. This was that.
Headphones in. Music up. Breathing.
