Music Monday: Colony House

Did everyone have a good weekend? As I’m sure you can imagine, I spent mine unpacking and trying to get settled into my new apartment. Today starts my first day at the new job (gulp) and I’m definitely feeling a bit anxious; excited, but anxious.

I spy with my little eye…a new phone case! 😉 

Before we jump into today’s Music Monday, I wanted to quickly show you all my new phone case! I had the opportunity to order a case through skinit.com a couple weeks ago, which couldn’t have come at a better time. I had a case on my phone but it was getting kind of old and it didn’t provide a ton of protection. Since I had my choice of case, I went for the Pro Case to get the impact absorbing layer; I’m a klutz, it’s necessary. Anyway, like I said, this new job has me feeling a bit anxious. Starting at a new job is never really fun for me, as excited as I am about the position, company and meeting everyone. The feeling of being *the new girl* and learning how the day to day goes, how the people are, processes and procedures, and all those other little nitty gritty details of a job that you don’t really know until you’re actually in it is what makes me nervous, anxious and honestly, a little scared. I’m sure it also doesn’t help that I’m starting this journey from an entirely new place and there’s a lot of emotions that come along with that too.

The point I’m trying to get at is that music is my way to deal with that anxiety; it’s how I cope and breathe and remember that everything will ultimately be okay. Because everything will be okay and I know when the first couple days are over and the anxiety starts to pass, I’ll feel silly for ever questioning or worrying about the unknown.
