My Favorite Podcasts to Listen to While Driving

For anyone wondering, yes, I made it out of Wyoming in one piece. I specify in one piece because the 3 hour drive out of Wyoming (what should have been only 2) was not fun as the weather started getting bad again and they ended up shutting down the highway shortly after we went through. I’m in no way surprised.

No, I did not make it to Iowa in time for Alex’s wedding but thankfully I did make it in time to throw on a cute dress and some make-up (you know, so I didn’t look like I woke up at 3am and drove 12 hours straight) and make it to the reception.

While I started crashing really early, I was SO happy we made it in time to join the celebration and be a part of Alex’s day. After spending two days stuck in the RV in Wyoming, what I needed was time with some of my best blends and thankfully, that was exactly what I got.

Made even better by the fact that I got to spend a little more time with Amanda after the 50 States In A Year event Sunday morning. Chatting about life and blogs with friends who get it, is always welcome in my book.

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share my new thing lately…podcasts! I always hear people talking about this podcast or that podcast and always wondered how and when do they just sit and listen to podcasts?

Well I don’t know about those other people, but MY time to listen to podcasts is while I drive, particularly during the early morning, late night or any other drives when Sam may be laying down. For some this may be a time they’d turn on music but lately listening to the podcasts is what helps keep me awake and alert. It keeps my brain active as I think and brainstorm or they make me laugh. Basically, it keeps me engaged in something where I can still pay attention to the road and my surroundings (like music).

Because of this, I thought it would be fun to share some insight into a few of my favorite podcasts right now:

These three are definitely reigning at the top of my list but there’s a few others that I enjoy listening to from time to time:

And while I’m ashamed to admit I haven’t listened to it yet, I must share that I’m SO excited to listen to my dear Meg’s new podcast:

The Nourished Podcast

I know there are so many amazing podcasts out there but these are just a few of my favorites.

What podcasts do you listen to?

And tell me…when do you listen to them?

Yay so glad you’re listening to Pat Flynn’s podcasts now! I’m addicted.

And I’m glad I got Katie C turned into Gilmore Guys! I’m caught up with all the episodes and get so excited when a new one comes out.

Also Stuff You Should Know is another favorite. And if you haven’t already…Serial is what turned me (and half of America) onto podcasts! 🙂

Of course I gave you a shout out, though I think I need to update the post now that I HAVE listened to an episode and LOVED it!! <3

  2. Kelsey / A Turquoise Lining

GGW all the way – I love Joy and Claire so much! I need to make it to CO and meet both of them! =) I have Wodcast Podcast & Barbell Shrugged on my list, but I struggle to find time to listen to them, or I guess MAKE time to listen to them.

If you ever watched Gilmore Girls….I highly recommend “Gilmore Guys” they recap the episode, and bring in some pretty funny guests.
