The weekend is getting closer and closer and I’m getting more and more excited. I have a to-do list of things I want to get done this weekend, including hanging things up on the wall, food prep to make my weeks easier, and some major blog planning and prep. Obviously I plan to get a run or two, a little relaxation and some fun thrown into the mix but after a crazy couple weeks, moving to a new city and starting a new job, I’m feeling a bit behind on some things and will feel better to knock them off the list!
But hey, enough about that! Today is all about the many reasons we have to be thankful and boy do we have plenty to be thankful for!
1. My workouts
I am slowly but surely figuring out how I can best fit my workouts into my schedule. It helps that I am an early riser so waking up at the butt crack of dawn isn’t outside of my realm of possibility. Living on the third floor means I can’t really jump around, especially at 5am but I’ve been getting in some great low impact workouts that still leave my muscles feeling like they got a kick. Yesterday I shared Tuesday morning’s workout which was a great one!
2. Morning/Evening Routine
I’m sure this sounds really silly but I’ve been playing around with my routine (it helps that there has been so much change and it’s basically forcing me to play around). One of my favorite things right now is to start each morning with a cup of warm lemon water. Lemon water helps detox your system and provides great energy. It’s been the perfect start to my mornings.
Then, before bed, I have a cup of warm Natural calm. The magnesium helps my body relax and recover from a long day, and honestly, I feel like I am sleeping so much better at night and waking up more relaxed and refreshed. I always thought magnesium made my stomach upset but I’ve only been doing about ½-1 tsp with a mug of water and it seems to be just right for me.
3. My body
Seriously, I am thankful for my body. I have been having a variety of health issues lately and it’s really easy to get down on my body for that…the excessive headaches/migraines, the dizziness, the extra rough time of the month, the wacky hormones, exhaustion, etc (all of which are related to one another, mind you), but despite all of that, my body is strong and healthy and carrying me through each day. It knows that I am doing all that I can to protect it, keep it healthy, and carry it through this patch of time; it knows that I will feed it with clean foods and fill it with all the nutrients it needs to get back on track. I may have to be playing around with my fitness and not working out as much, as long, or as intensely as I would like to, but I’m giving it the rest and recovery that it needs, when it needs it. We’re a team and sometimes it’s hard to remember that when we feel like our bodies are letting us down. Rant over. Moral of the story: I’m thankful. 😉
That’s me. What are you thankful for this week?

I’m thankful for happy posts like this!! And a great link party.
Starting your day with a glass of warm lemon water sounds great! I need to get into that more, because it’s so simple to do, yet so good for your body! I am thankful that Toronto still is kind of warm right now… even though we’re past the mid point of November!
I love that you are thankful for your body! I took it for granted for far too long and now I realize what a gift it is. Sorry that you are dealing with not so fun issues, as a migraine sufferer myself I know how hard it can be!
A healthy body is one of our greatest treasures! Good to hear you are doing better! Take care of yourself! Great link up! There is so much to be thankful for! Happy Thursday
Starting the morning with warm lemon water instead of coffee sometimes sounds like a great idea. Maybe I’ll try that to kick start my Friday tomorrow 🙂
Your body yes! We only get one body in this lifetime, treat it like you want it to last one too. And routine, I love routine, too bad routine isn’t perfect with a child in it. And workouts are so important too. I need to focus more on my workouts and body than I have been lately.

Ugh doesn’t it suck when you have one thing wrong physically and it just kind of spirals down from there??
Take care of yourself, friend! You’ve got a lot going on!! <3 <3
I’m definitely still thankful for my body, even if it is failing me a little bit at the moment. It has worked so hard for me, it deserves a little cuddle and gratitude!
