“The thigh bone’s connected to the knee bone, the knee bone’s connected to the leg bone…” Okay I’ll stop. Promise. Especially because that song isn’t nearly as helpful as it was when you were four. But what is helpful or at least I really hope is helpful? This book.
Because you see Anatomy is not my subject and there’s a bit more to know as a personal trainer about our anatomy than you need to know as a band manager. That’s what I call #truth. 😉
And speaking of books, have you ever found yourself interested in writing a book? A long time ago, I would have thought you were crazy if you told me I’d have any desire in writing a book someday or that I’d sign up to write a book in 30 days.
But guess what?
I did.
That’s write right. You see, a friend recommended I sign up for the NaNoWriMo – the National Novel Writing Month. 30 days, 50,000-words, 175-pages, 1 novel.
Will it be easy? No. Is a novel the kind of book I ever thought I’d write? No. Will the book be fully finished by the end of the month? No. But will I have a draft and challenge myself to do something new and fully outside my comfort zone? Absolutely.
Something to think about:
Tell me this: when was the last time you really challenged yourself or stepped outside your comfort zone?

I signed up for NaNoWriMo … but I feel like I’m not going to do it. Good luck! My friend Kelly (insertcleverlinkhere.com) and my friend Steph (stephadamo.com) are thinking about signing up too.
There’s nothing that’ll be easy about it and we’ll see how well it turns out or if I’m able to finish but I’m looking forward to TRYING and seeing just what I can do!
That’s so awesome & cool about writing a novel. I’m sure it’ll turn out great.
The last time I stepped out of my comfort zone was yesterday. I’m not a big fan of stray cats, and we had some outside of our apartment yesterday. I debated on just staying in until they were gone.. but I didn’t.. and hey I even survived! I know that sounds stupid, but ah stray cats are one of my biggest fears!
Good work girl! 🙂
Wow! Writing a novel is an amazing undertaking! Very cool! The last time I stepped out of my comfort zone, I enrolled in school to become a health coach (I’m a high school math teacher). Haven’t regretted it at all! I’m pursuing something I’m passionate about, and taking the (sometimes scary) steps to get there. 🙂
Doesn’t it feel great to know you’re working towards something you love? Writing a novel is going to be hard and no one said it has to be GOOD but it’ll force me to just keep writing!
