Who’s ready to workout? ?

What? You don't cheesy grin when you're lifting weights? Now THAT is weird. ??

If you’ve been reading TLSM for awhile, then you may remember the days when I used to do Fitness Fridays. I would share my week of workouts with you all and then open up a link up for everyone to share theirs. It was fun but also very time consuming and kind of hit or miss, but fitness is such a big part of my life and while I’m not bringing back the weekly roundup, I thought it would be fun at the end of each month (or start of a new month) to look back and reflect on the previous month of workouts.

I’m thinking ahead to 2017 and what I may want some of my fitness goals to be, how I want to get more social and excited about living in Michigan, and various ways to keep myself excited and focused in my health and fitness. More on that later as I figure it out, but I think a monthly check-in is a great way to do this!

Yoga:

15 classes completed

855 minutes of yoga

Run:

25 miles covered

Circuit/Strength Workouts:

20 short circuits completed

Walks:

15 walks completed (10+ minutes)

Rest:

6 complete rest days taken

It looks like a lot, I know, but I will preface by saying that this month felt amazing! I started off really strong and while admittedly I fizzled a bit in the latter half, I truly listen to my body each and every day and when it needs total rest, I take it; when it needs to not have a super intense workout but just something easier, I take it.

As I mentioned yesterday, work will be getting busier and my availability for workouts will diminish, but since I’ll be walking miles upon miles likely each day in the company warehouse supporting that team, I’ll definitely be keeping myself active and supplementing additional workouts where it feels best. 🙂

Not to mention as I continue to detox from the arsenic toxicity, it’s totally up to my body what works and what doesn’t…

How were your workouts last month?

Do you have any fitness goals you’re currently working towards or planning to work on in the next couple months?

I absolutely love my work outs! I started getting into it full-time when my husband deployed last year and now I’m completely hooked. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and then take a yoga class 1-2 times a week. Not only do I look better and so much more toned, but I FEEL better. Which is huge for someone who’s struggled with mental health and body issues. I always recommend people add a work out to their week.

My workouts mostly include walking to and from work, but it’s 30 minutes each way so that adds up! haha. I try to add in a few actual workouts in the morning but could definitely do better next month.

Wow! Your diversity and amount of time spent on working out is so impressive! It inspires me to amp up my routine even more!
