You Have The Power To Change Your Life

I often find that some of my favorite yoga instructors are the ones who remind me to set an intention for my practice or to repeat a mantra. In class a couple weeks ago, my instructor said that one of her favorite intentions lately was “I have everything I need.” I immediately snatched it for my own and used it for a couple weeks, both in and out of yoga.

Then I started (and finished) reading my next audiobook, “You Are A Badass” by Jen Sincero and that mantra shifted slightly from “I have everything I need” to “I have the power to change my life.”

power

For the last week or so, no matter what is happening, what I’m thinking or feeling or worrying about, “I have the power to change my life” pops into my head and I feel a sense of ease and peace again. It has helped take my anxiety from off the charts to something more manageable and within my grasp.

I have the power to change my life.

There’s nothing fancy or complex about it. It’s simple and straight forward, but it is also super powerful.

I have the power to change my life.

When I’m holding warrior 3 and feeling like I may fall out at any moment; I have the power to change my life.

When someone honks and flicks me off while driving because I speed up fast enough to get around the construction tractor; I have the power to change my life.

When I’m feeling overwhelmed by various decisions and conversations; I have the power to change my life.

However any of that transfers over to you and your life, just remember: YOU have the power to change YOUR life.

Are you taking power over your life or are you allowing stress and anxiety to control it for you?

Thank you for this. I feel like I have experienced a mental shift, too, similar to what you’re sharing, that has been super empowering and I love it!

This is a great post and a great reminder. I can be too quick to let stresses seem overwhelming. But I need to remember to have the right attitude and that I have control of the situation. I needed this pep talk. Thanks!

yes! so much yes. I think about this a lot when peoples actions upset me that I have the power of my own actions and I have the power to change things.
