I have a confession…
When it comes to resistance bands, I always forget their option. More so, I forget they’re a GREAT option for my workouts (not just mobility).
With the updates to my workouts lately, I broke into my box of “misc fitness,” pulled out my resistance bands and it’s been amazing! My muscles burn and feel strong. It’s been a great reminder that you can still get a fantastic workout without needing heavy weights or dumbbells.
On Monday I mentioned my trip away for the weekend and while I got in a workout Thursday morning before I left and Sunday when I got back, I decided to pack the bands just in case I had the time and energy for a little workout. I mostly planned on taking Friday and Saturday for rest, but figured if my body felt like it wanted a workout, I’d fit something in.
Sure enough, Saturday afternoon I found myself feeling really low energy. I sat down in the guest room at my friend’s place to write for a bit when I fell asleep for an unplanned mid-afternoon nap. When I woke up, I was dragging. It felt difficult to move and all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and go back to sleep. I tried really hard to talk myself out of any workout, but it just kept popping into my head how I would find energy in my workout.
I was short on time, so I threw together this little baby and took it 1 time through. It wasn’t enough to make me sweat but it was enough to re-energize me and start to feel the burn.

Thanks for sharing that quick and easy workout! I LOVE resistance bands, especially because they make working out while traveling oh so easy, and they add a whole new dimension to toning workouts (compared to using dumbbells). And I am with you. Sometimes I make myself workout because I know it will wake me up… And it does. Every time!

I am like you and have a miscellaneous box of workout equipment. I have used my bands a few times over the past few weeks but I need to make them more of a routine.
We just had to go buy somemore. We lost them and my son was doing a new routine.

We have resistance bands at the house and use them all the time! They are so great!
I have a set of bands but don’t really think about using them. I should really get them back out because I do know they make a difference. It is time for me to get my butt in gear and use them.Your posts always inspire me.

I need to invest in some resistance bands. And put them in the kitchen and use them when food is cooking! 😉
