Several months ago I committed myself to ending each day by hitting the reset button, either through 20 minutes of yoga or a bit of reading. Then life happened and that commitment somehow flew out the window. When I was keeping that commitment, I saw huge improvements in my sleep, day and mentality so I’m working to bring it back.
Friday night I got in 20 minutes of yoga.
Saturday night I got in another 20 minutes of yoga.
And after work today I’ll be hitting the gym to read while cross-training. Because a little joy and Christmas spirit is always a good thing. So what am I reading?
My mom got me this book a year or two ago and sadly, I’m just reading it for the first time. This book is filled with short stories of Santa “miracles” or those doing great things for others during the holiday season. It’s heart-warming and touching, and while we’re still trying to wrap our heads around the act of cruelty that happened in CT on Friday, we could all use a little heart-warming kindness.
How do you relax at the end of the day?
What book are you reading?

I should start doing yoga before bed too! I used to do push-ups, sit-ups and a little stretching but haven’t been doing it as often.
I love this idea! I also love the sound of that book, sounds like it would be very inspirational…who doesn’t love a good Christmas story?! Right now I am reading a book called “Running for my Life.” It’s a true story about a man who escaped the African genocide and competed in the Olympics.
I think relaxing & trying to hit the “rewind button” at the end of the day is a great thing! I used to vow to do a little stretch or yoga before bed, but I fail at that usually. I do read before bed, almost nightly. It does help me sleep better. I’m currently reading the book Wheat Belly.
