Stolen Dance in Minnesota

This is the first moment I feel like I’ve had in the last week to sit down and write. It’s nice. And right now it’s actually just me, music and a cup of coffee. I guess that’s the benefit of waking up before everyone else.

Sam and I made it to Minnesota late Friday night, had our event Saturday morning, ran errands and met up with a friend for a late lunch, came back to the house we’re staying at and Facetimed with a friend for awhile before crashing for the night. I think we’re both still in shock that this is our life for the next year; we are incredibly blessed.

The house we’re staying at in Duluth, MN is huge! Most of the family is out of town this weekend and their house is huge, so there’s plenty of room for us. They have a huge property as well so there’s plenty of room to park and turn the RV around. Speaking of RV…we got one! We got approved for the loan and got our paperwork finalized Wednesday before our event, took the class on how to care for it Thursday morning, took it home Thursday afternoon and then started running around like crazy people until we left Friday afternoon. It’s still a mess inside as we figure out what works and what doesn’t but it’s our home and we love it already.

As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t know what my posting schedule will be for the year but I’m sure after a few weeks, I’ll find my groove. For now, please bear with me as I figure things out but also be sure to check out the 50 States blog for updates on where we are, how our events are going and of course, what we’re raising money for each month!

We’ve had some incredible support over the last couple weeks from people who not only are excited to support the charity but who want to help support us in making this year a reality. I must tell you, we’re incredibly humbled. On Saturday someone asked who to write the check out to. I let him know we can only accept credit cards via the website for the charity and he said “but to support you two?” and after handing over the check, he went to the computer and made a donation to the charity. I was near tears. This person had never met me but loved what we’re doing. We really are meeting some incredible people already!

For now, I’ll leave you with a song I’m sure you’ve heard on the radio lately but at least until they start over-playing it, I’m enjoying it. 😉
