I’m back at it with a few new confessions…
–Sarah told me these confessions posts have become some of her favorites…guess what? They’ve become some of mine too!
-In a conversation with a friend the other day I realized it’s been over a year since i went on a date…uhh, hi world, i’m single, got any cute, nice friends?
-I’m a month away from my first 1/2 marathon and I’m being easily scared away from my long runs. So much so that yesterday’s 7 miler was moved to today…I have no intention to talk myself out of it today but please hold me accountable anyway. Mind over matter, remember?
-Instead of running yesterday I ended up dusting my room and cleaning my desk. As simple as this may seem, it made me feel so much better!
-I’m reeeeaaaalllyyyy toying around with the idea of going gluten-free for a set amount of time, maybe a couple of weeks to a month. I am really interested to see how my body reacts and feels.
-But along those lines, I’m really afraid to try it while I’m 1/2 marathon training. It has the potential to IMPROVE my training and the way my body feels, but I can’t help but worry about any potential negative reactions or spend the time stressing over what I can / can’t eat.
-I’m one of those people who saves magazines, except I got over saving the WHOLE magazine and now just tear out what I want to keep/re-read in a folder for later…I never go back and read them. Well maybe not NEVER, but 99% of the time I don’t go back.
-This isn’t so much a confession but since yesterday was Dr. Seuss’s birthday, I leave you with a few words from him…
What do you have to confess today?

If those single boys have brothers, send them my way. It’s been over a year for me, too!
I am the SAME way with magazine. I have even, for the most part, stopped tearing out recipes or anything else, because I have binders full of ‘inspiration’ that I NEVER go back to. Yet, I don’t want to get rid of my subscriptions, because they are my motivation for cross training on the elliptical. 🙂
I agree to maybe wait until after the race…it’s only a month away and since you’re not allergic to it, I’d just wait. Which makes me wonder…why go gluten free?
I LOVE Dr. Seuss!! Seriously what an awesomely creative man who used his talents to help kids learn how to be the best they can be??
And I used to work out at home a lot so I’d save the magazine workouts, but I think when I moved I tossed them since I hadn’t used them in awhile. Organization definitely helps with everything!!
My chiropractor recommended me trying the Paleo diet to help with more of my stomach issues. They’ve cleared up SO much since I decided to cut out most processed foods but it’s really just an experiment to see if it can help me feel even better. If it was successful, I’d probably try to stick to a mostly gluten-free diet but I wouldn’t be super strict with it. It’s really just a test and I’ll go from there but I’m thinking I’ll wait too…
I do actually read my magazines, but I have a bunch of stuff like recipes and workouts from them that I ripped out and saved that I always forget to go back to. Need to come up with a better system!
Me too…my system clearly isn’t working. 😉
Isn’t it amazing how great doing a little bit of cleaning can make you feel? I find it to be very refreshing!
Love the quotes. That Dr. Seuss is a smart man!
Yes he is! 😉
You can still get plenty of carbs if you do decide to go GF before your race. Hey… I’m GF and I ran a half and did GREAT! Call me if you wanna chat about being GF. I would LOVE to chat!! It is SUPER easy to exchange things, plus if you ate something with gluten it wouldn’t hurt you… like it would me! 🙂
PS… I MISS you!
We’re definitely going to have to chat about it because I want to give it a try. I’m going to wait until after my 1/2 though just in case. I don’t want to test my body in too many ways, but after I finish, I think it’ll be a great time to try it out.
Gluten Free is a Godsend for me! I feel so much better Katie, remember our discussions about this?? I really think it can only improve your performance and make you feel better and stronger 🙂
I’m all for it, just nervous to challenge my body too much at once. I definitely anticipate feeling even BETTER but with a month until my 1/2, I think I’ll wait until after.
Don’t go gluten-free before your race. If you decide to do it, wait until after your race, please.
puh-lease. 😉
Ha ha . . . I pull out magazine articles, too. And then I never remember to go back to them! LOVE Dr. Suess. I print #3 onto my student’s syllabus that they receive on the first day of school. 🙂
