Well I crossed another thing off my summer bucket list yesterday as I went hiking with some pretty cool ladies. It was a pretty easy hike but a hike none the less and the beautifully warm weather allowed me to sweat a bit and feel like I got in a workout.
Anyway, what I really want to talk about today is a really cool company that’s doing some pretty cool things. In fact, I’m hoping to make this a fairly regular (read: not weekly) thing on this here blog of mine and it’s called Sunday Spotlight. The idea behind this is that I want to take some time to spotlight some awesome people or companies doing great things.
So who sparked this idea? The company is called Della and they are a fashion company that also creates laptop and iPad cases. But they go further than that. The company was created by a woman named Tina Tangalakis who decided to start this company after a trip to Ghana that absolutely changed her life.
According to their website, “every dollar earned at Della goes toward providing employment, education and financial stability for poverty-stricken women in Ghana. Our women receive a steady, fair income and are empowered through education via micro-financing, savings and entrepreneurship classes.” These beautiful cases, jewelry and bags and made in Ghana.
What I love most about this company, is not just that they’re giving jobs and stability to these women, but rather they’re taking it a step further. They provide healthcare, social security benefits and weekly money management and literacy classes. How cool is that? It definitely takes this quote to a whole new level:
I was so excited when I heard about this company and as soon as I can decide which case I want to buy, I’m going to do it! (There are just so many beautiful options).
Any amazing people or companies I should know about?
Send me an email to kt.talkless.saymore (at) gmail.com and they may be part of a future Sunday Spotlight!

Love this!! I need to look into them for a new ipad case!
They have a few on their website and they’re starting to sell in Apple retail stores (exclusively) but only in select markets.
