Taking Time for Treats During a Busy Week

6 Comments on Taking Time for Treats During a Busy Week

It’s been a really busy past week for me with 50 States stuff. We had 4 events in 5 days, followed by hanging out with my sister for a few hours before she left to go back home for Christmas. And just when we thought we’d have an easier day to hang out and play catch-up, we realized just how much catching up we had to do and didn’t stop all day. Per usual, I’m pretty sure I was adding things to my todo list faster than I was able to cross a single thing off. But this time of year, I’m sure I’m not alone in that. 😉

Anyway, I thought it’d be fun to share a few fun things that have been happening amidst all of the craziness TYT style.

1 – We had an 8 hour drive on Friday as we went from West Virginia to Delaware. About an hour or so into the drive, Sam spotted a sign for some caverns and thought they sounded interesting. We had talked about making a few stops along the way to break up the drive and while it was a little early for a stop, we decided we’d do it anyway. And oh my, we are SO happy that we did!

We both had such a great time walking through this gorgeous cavern and chatting with one of the guys working there. If we had more time, we would have loved to spend a little longer walking the cavern and just taking it all in. But alas, we got back on the road to finish our drive.

2 – A few weeks ago Becky sent me a few Advocare Performance supplements she can’t use while pregnant but thought I’d like. I’ve tried a few products from the Performance Elite line and loved them but these were some I had yet to, including the Nighttime Recovery.

Let’s just say, this is a freaking LIFE SAVER after a 4 event week! I’ve been sore but I know it would be MUCH worse as these have been some pretty challenging event WODs this week.

3 – Speaking of Advocare…my 24 Day Challenge bundle arrived to my sister’s house and since I got to see her Sunday night, I was able to pick up all of my packages.

I was going to join the group starting on the 5th of January but Advocare announced a HUGE “ALL-IN” challenge starting on the 7th where across the globe we can join in TOGETHER! Obviously I’m going to push back 2 days so we can all do this together and support one another.

Who wants to join me?!

4 – Another fun package waiting for me were some cute new training shoes from Asics!

I haven’t tried them out yet but I’m hoping to get in a few workouts this week and be able to report back next week with my thoughts! Stay tuned! 🙂

5 – And while I may not be going home for Christmas, I did get to spend a few hours with my sister Sunday night as Sam and I went to dinner with my sister and her boyfriend, walked around 34th Street in Baltimore to look at the crazy, tacky light display and then went back to my sister’s house to watch White Christmas, our favorite Christmas movie. It may not sound like much, but it really was quite the treat and exactly what I needed to get in a bit of the holiday spirit.

How are you treating yourself this week?

After I read about 4 events in 5 days, I knew you’d definitely need that Nighttime Recovery! It doesn’t take 100% of the soreness away but it makes it more bearable. I’m so glad I sent it to you now 🙂 And on another note, I love the snowflakes flittering across my screen while I read your blog!
