Tea Time

I’m going to take a different approach to What I Ate Wednesday today…well, because I want to and this is my blog so I do what I want.  Besides, one thing I enjoyed last night was a mug of hot tea, so what better time then to catch up?  It’s tea time!

If we were having tea, I’d tell you how I’m trying out meditation.  You may have figured that out from my September goals, but it’s just proof I’m serious about it.  I’m starting with shorter spurts which is fine because every little bit counts.  After a 10 minute guided meditation last Tuesday afternoon, I found myself so relaxed and calm that I had a serious case of writer’s block for a good 10 minutes.  I just stared at a blank page and waited for thoughts to come to me.  You could see it as a bad thing, but I took it to mean that I was able to actually block my brain and just relax, ain’t nothing wrong with that!

If we were having tea, I would tell you how excited I am to attend the Healthy Living Summit in just 9 days! It was 2 years ago that I first attended HLS and had a great time living it up in Philly with some new friends. I didn’t get to go last year and I didn’t think I would get to go this year but the opportunity for a ticket presented itself and with my lovely friend Amanda opening her home to me, I’m so excited I get to attend this year.  Minneapolis, I can’t wait to see you!

If we were having tea, I would tell you how I’m such a sucker for weight loss shows.  I find them so motivational and inspiring. I love seeing people change their lives by switching to a healthy and active lifestyle.  While my journey may not have included needing to lose numerous pounds, eating well and regularly running and working out has absolutely changed me and my life for the better.  I have never once regretted my decision to pursue a better lifestyle and I love motivating people to do the same and watching their lives change for the better.

And finally, if we were having tea, I’d ask if you’d like another cup because I’m having so much fun catching up I don’t want it to end!

Now, tell me – what would you tell me if we were having tea today?

I’m jealous you are getting to go to HLS! I wanted to go so badly, especially as I have wanted to so to the TwinCities for awhile now. (Sigh) BUT if we were having tea, what I would tell you is that I just know I am where I’m supposed to be, doing what I’m supposed to do, even if the financial, social, and romantical (?) pieces of my life are still occasionally a bit muddled. 😉

I’d tell you that I’m pumped to see you at HLS although we need to plan a date here because it is silly for us to travel 6 hours to see each other 😉 I’d also tell you that I love meditation too – It is so calming and needed in our busy lives!

I’d sip away with my Irish Breakfast tea and tell you as of last night I have secured the job to write the Crystal Lake Centennial book (which I won’t get paid on until books sell in 4th Quarter 2014).
Also, that I may have a job lined up which should pay sooner than a year from now. 🙂

If we were having tea, I would first make sure it was Earl Grey. Then I would tell you how I am super frustrated about this ankle injury and that I’m terrified of what it’s going to do to my marathon training. I’d also tell you that it doesn’t hurt today, but I’m also terrified to go and try to run because I’m scared I’m going to re-injure it.

Slow and steady, girl, slow and steady! You’ll get back into it but remember that you need to ease your way back. If you try to go back with the same intensity, you’ll only re-injure which you don’t want!
