Is it time to replace your shaker cups and water bottles?
I got to thinking about this the other week.
For the most part I use my shaker cups as water bottles (they’re just easier to sip from and less likely to leak) but last week I grabbed two other bottles hanging out in my cabinet…they had built in straws and while I wash them regularly, there’s other parts that are hard to clean and I started to get a bit grossed out. It took all of about two seconds before they both hit the trash can.
Now, I’m not one to waste, but this is my health and well…their time had come to an end.
From there I started checking out my other water bottles and shaker cups. What was their condition?
With all of the protein powders, Spark, iced coffee or other various beverages that may be consumed in them, it’s not uncommon for them to start smelling, cracking, or having stains that you can no longer clean away.
I say trash ‘em.
If I don’t know how long I’ve had them and I even remotely question their integrity.
I say trash ‘em.
Some days it feels like I have a million shaker cups and I’m using the same ones over and over, often because there are others that just don’t seem up to par. You know what?
I say trash ‘em!
And while it’s not uncommon to feel like we all have a million water bottles, chances are some of those are past their prime, need to be trashed and replaced.
Consider this your reminder…
Is it time to replace your water bottle?

I’m with ya girl! I get so grossed out by the reusable plastic straws, especially when I look through and there are things caked inside. Ew! Now I make sure to rinse my straws and bottles out thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher, and I don’t keep them for more than a year. Better to trash than hoard!

It’s funny you posted this after I just watched an episode of Shark Tank where a couple of entrepreneurs were introducing their all-natural product that cleans water bottles and such. It’s a tablet that you drop in the bottle. As it fizzes, it removes stains and odors.
I never thought about this, but good idea!
I recently threw away three shaker cups because they were so scratched up and stained! My hasband wanted to keep them and I said no way!
I don’t ever think about this…but maybe I should a bit more often.
Eek I feel like my water bottles never get clean enough.
It sucks.

I find my water bottles to be very difficult to clean! I just did a big clean out because some of them looked rough
I can never tell with my bottles.
My husband and I just had this conversation. He wanted to keep, I said throw them away. Showing him this. Trash they go.

Ah, I needed this reminder! I’ve always got loads of bottles around, as I drink water 24-7! I’m sure some of them need replacing ASAP, as I keep them around for way too long, haha! So thank you 🙂

I agree- bottles can be tricky to clean especially when you cant easily get to each part to clean.
