Trainer’s Tip / Total Body + Abs

When I went into my workout on Tuesday, I wasn’t expecting to kick my butt. HA! But I did and I did it without pushing beyond my body’s limits.

Trainers Tip

I walked into the gym Tuesday with a full-body strength workout in hand (one I created many months ago) and while I made some changes on the fly, I was in the zone.  It was one of those days where I found my place in the weight room and didn’t let anyone get in my way.  It’s so easy, especially this time of year when the gym is filling up with high schoolers and college students on summer break, to try and avoid anywhere they are (admit it, you do it too!) but this was one of those days where I got there during a brief slow period.  I put my water bottle down, grabbed my weights and bosu ball and got to business.

I got in the zone.  I ignored what was going on around me and just busted out set after set, move after move until I was done.  Then I cleaned up and moved to a quieter area to get in the ab burner…and boy it burned.  As soon as I was done with the last plank, my abs were burning, my shoulders were shaking and I was exhausted (in the best way possible).  I looked up and a friend was there asking how I was, I hardly had words to which he said “tired?” And I was like “yeah…that’s exactly how I am.” HA!

If you try it, make sure to let me know what you think!

What was the last workout that left you feeling shaky and strong?
